I downloaded this version from ed2k @ the start of the year...

Which modules should I be downloading or which ones apply to me so I can keep my Autopatcher up to date??

Thanks in advance  :)

so far:

- Jan05 is the big one

- a release will be made soon with the last bunch of ms updates

- and see start of this thread for other individual module releases (note some come in the larger releases!

the next big one will probably be feb05 which you will add to jan05

and theres been a few updates to autopatcher itself and the module editor, but theyll probably be in the next big release and replace the ones in jan05

forget that, your mail system doesnt like the 15MB file either

My ISP offers a 1GB inbox and has no problem with 15MB e-mails. It didn't block your e-mail as spam either... Anyway, I'll download it using the links.

hmm, my isp limits me to 16MB attachments, but i was below that.

all i know is i got a mailer deamon message returned telling me it had a problem with the size.

Dont worry about it.

BlazingAngel: Your module is stampted, packaged and uploaded now. Check first post.

Great :D

Lower ScanDisk Wait Time Tweak (unofficial)

This will reduce the time you have to wait for ScanDisk to start, when it waits to see if you want to cancel.(From 10sec to 4sec)

Just done a module for the new build (3802) of Media Player 10.

This is intended to replace the MP10 module in existing AutoPatcher XP configurations, so please remove the existing module before adding this one.

Not convinced this attachment thing's worked, so I've also put it on a friend's FTP @ here.

I'm gonna do a few more in the near future, probably starting with Firefox 1.0.1

DjBx

One suggestion though DJ-Beardsall,

If you use the following installation command, the install is completely silent, even with system restore disabled.

"Module:\MP10Setup.exe" /q:A /c:"setup_wm.exe /DisallowSystemRestore /Q /R:N /P:#e"

Now if I can just find a way to do away with the setup wizard...

rtk

I did try that, but I can't say I noticed the difference, other than it not warning me that I have no System Restore.

The longer one seems interesting though, I'll have a play with that.

And thanks for the constructive criticism :)

Morning all!

I've created a few modules I'd like to share with the community. throughput should be "ok" for a few at a time, but I can't see serving out gigs off this site... so I'll hope I can keep these hosted for a while...

Working on a couple more at the moment, with plans for many more.

Any comments or feedback (constructive) would be greatly appreciated.

Set Double-Click of .reg files to Edit instead of Merge

Helps to prevent the accidental merging of potentially unwanted registry entries

have you checked the effect of this on autopatchers tweaks?

we may find people using this tweak and then finding when they use the tweaks in autopatcher they then open in notepad instead of being applied!

Shouldn't be a problem. since the tweak's .amc files should use regedit /s to do the import of the reg file, although I haven't checked them all... the reg files are another project for me another day (I want to take just the ones I personally use, and customize them for silent unattended install via a scheduled task or something on all the machines on my corporate network).

The only time my tweak comes into play is when a person browses into the module.amc_files folder and doubleclicks on a .reg file.

I've used this tweak for a long time now, got in the habit of putting it on the systems I work on, after accidentally doubleclicking on a half created .reg file as well as simple protection a few years ago against a user "accidentally" doubleclicking a .reg file from an untrusted source.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
