I'm waiting for Apple to get rid of CRT completely and focus on enhancing their Studio Displays. I'm also holding my breathe for Apple Plasma Displays *Wink, wink*

Agreed. I think they should release a 17" display running at 1280x1024, that would be cool :)

You don't need a screen to know what song is playing.  Presumably you have ears?  Listen to the music.  Your brain makes a connection and you know what song is playing from the lyrics, the instruments, the tune, etc, etc.  No screen needed.

Anyway, for ?69 (UK price for the smaller capacity one) you can't really complain about the lack of a screen.

Yes I do... I can't recognize a song after listening for the first 2 seconds, I have to listen to it... and that takes time.. If I see it on a screen it's much easier and faster.

I have an RCA player now + 1 Gig SD card and it cost me approx 150$. But:

1. I have a choice of online muic stores

2. I have a screen

3. I can upgrade capacity with other SD cards

4. I'm not paying for Apple brand;))

I love the "ipod mini mini" too, but what bomer says is right.... i have some 1000/3000 songs on itunes that ive never listened before, and what if someone asks me what im listening to, or i simply LOVE this new song?? i wanna know what its called of give it a rating, right?? i have a big ipod at the mo (gen 4)

Obviously the iPod flash is geared towards the very low end market. You pay for less, but you get a little less. Everyone's jumping up and down over the lack of screen but that's because Apple's doing something that hasn't been thought of before. Innovation always raises some red flags at first, give this some time and then we'll see whether or not it works.

And unless you compress to radio quality you're not getting 1000 songs on that thing.

yes, agress, and the new shuffle, what a clever name.... that name basically explained why there isn't a screen and made the con to the pro

Awwww.... how nice.

Why do they have iMovie and FCE with HD?? As far as I know, there are no HD DVD players or drives in existance yet. How can anyone produce a HD -DVD with a Mac when there are no HD DVD drives or players?

    • This is why competition must exist. Finally, pressure is mounting on Microsoft to move in the right direction.
    • Microsoft is making Windows 11's context menus faster, simpler, and configurable by Taras Buria Five years ago, Windows 11 introduced redesigned context menus, offering users a simpler, more modern design. However, customers quickly discovered that the new menus leave a lot to be desired. Many are unhappy with performance (they are really slow), while others dislike the double-layed design, where many options are hidden behind the "Show more options" button. In addition, over the years, menus became cluttered and overloaded. While Microsoft has already fixed plenty of pain points across Windows 11, context menus remain mostly unchanged. Fortunately, Microsoft is finally listening. Marcus Ash, Design and Research Lead for Windows at Microsoft, responded to a tweet on X, confirming that the company is working on fixing Windows 11's context menus. Reworked context menus are supposed to be faster, simpler by default, and "configurable to what you use most." What the latter means is unknown, just like whether Microsoft plans to keep the classic menu alongside the modern one, but according to Marcus, the wait should finally be over soon, as he promised to "share our approach soon." Improved context menus will most likely appear first in Windows 11 preview builds in the Experimental Channel. While we wait for Microsoft to release them, you can try fixing context menus on your PC with a simple tool called Windows 11 Context Menu Manager. It lets you disable entries you do not need, not only cleaning up context menus, but also making them significantly faster. Microsoft has already improved Windows 11's Start menu and taskbar, so hopefully it will address user criticism of the context menu as well. Stay tuned for new Windows 11 preview builds, which usually arrive every Friday.
