What do you drive?

this really depends on the tire.  They make different tires with different compounds and treads.  DWS are not track tires, they are all season tires.   My dws on my car lasted around 50k (could of had 60+ prior to car stopping short in front of me and totaling it), they were great tires and would buy again.  But a track tire, they are not.  If using them on the track, I would imagine premature wear as well as not being able to hold the car to the ground really well, in comparison to supersports they are a hard compound.  Might as well say a stock nissan sentra handles as well as a ferrari in that instance, comparing the similar type of apple to a similar type of orange...two things being made for different purposes.  You want a track tire, what kind of track 1/4 or autox?  1/4 mile, supersports I wouldn't touch...autox, they are good but there are better out there for less money but you may not like them for wet conditions...should probably have a set on another set of rims/wheels for track duty if you plan on running your car at the track frequently (regardless of track).

DWS are the OEM tires that my performance car came with. I've tried a few Conti tires, and they're not impressive at all. I'm not making an apples to apples comparison, but it boggles my mind that a performance car w/ 507 hp come with crap OEM tires. I've tried the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, and these were also amazing for all-season performance and on the track. Yes, there are tires for every use like you said.

I used to have a used 1983 Volvo 340GL

I was in a head on collision in a Volvo once (850 Turbo maybe ?  840 ?) .  Girl came around an S curve, speeding in the rain & drifted into our lane.  Hit us head on, her car flipped & we went off the road into a tree.  As soon as we stopped, I looked over at the driver and asked, "you OK ?"  He goes, "yeah, you ?"
I said, "Im fine."

What they say about Volvo is true.  We didnt even get a bruise.
Those cars are amazing.

I'm sad. I'm giving my mom my 2012 Ford Fusion, and I'll be driving a 1996 Ford F-150 with an inline 6 engine. It's also lifted with 35s. Short girls can't get in, so I get to touch butts for free ;)

lifted, 35s, and a 6 cyl full size pick up... guess you dont plan on pulling a trailer, or going up a hill, or putting more than your golf clubs in the back.

But you will get to hoist up girls by their butts... depending on the girl - could be quite fun.

It's got a drop hitch to it. I can still pull trailers, I just have to be careful. Plus, I'd rather use my 79 Ford F-150 with a 400 v8 6.6L Engine. It sounds sexier, and it rattles windows of nearby cars when I step on it. We're adding a 4 Barrel carb and a new intake manifold. We're putting an automatic choke instead of the crappy manual one. :D

Should be getting my 2016 Q50 Red Sport (RWD) ... fully decked out on Tues/Wed.  I know the general manager for the local Infiniti dealer here ... use to run with him a bunch of other folks (before I got fat and lazy...haha).  So he found one that matches what I wanted in Georgia and is having it shipped here.  He worked out the math so I'd just write a check for $53K flat (not financing it) ... which includes tax/fees/window tint/etc ... so I really got it for about 50K (about 7K less than MSRP).  More than I wanted to spend ... but whatever.  Pictures when I get it to my garage.

Driving impressions on the test drive.  Holy smokes ... it can move...very nimble as well.  Interior and information systems are nicely done...only small issue is the maps display screen...seems like it is the same one I had in my G37 many years ago...but whatever.  Couldn't really find any other faults with it.  That 400hp has some oomph.  Anyway, I already know the cops are going to love me. :(

Already have a 2 door vehicle (Explorer Sport) which is why I didn't really want the Q60.

Picked it up just a little bit ago.  Put it safely in the garage ... going to eat supper and then play with all the settings.  Took it easy on the way home...drove like a granny....but I did accidently (seriously) hit 100 on the off ramp going to my house.  Sooooo smooth and quiet ... looked down and went ...  "ooh...this car is going to get me into trouble"

I'll post more pictures if anyone is interested.  This is the one the salesman took while I was in the car pairing my phone.

2016 Q50 Red Sport RWD in Graphite.  All decked out with tech/prem/drivers assistance packages...and lighting kit (which is actually pretty cool)

Yeah once you hit 400+ HP it is ridiculously easy to hit triple digits without any effort.

Nice car!

Dang dude...LOL. :)

Totally joking.

I would have to live in it as my better half would throw me out if I did that.

When I was thinking about getting another GT-R, she said I would be single ... so..... she was almost single too !

    • Snap Inc. launches new SPECS augmented reality glasses (for 'just' $2,195) by Aditya Tiwari Image: Snap Inc. Smartglasses powered by augmented reality are the latest fashion because the smartphone market is slowly reaching saturation. Snap Inc. announced its latest AR-powered smartglasses, called SPECS, that aim to strike a middle ground between underpowered AI glasses and heavy headsets you can't wear all the time. Available in two sizes, Snap SPECS are made from high-performance Swiss TR90 polymer and feature removable inserts to support prescription lenses. Its 47mm model weighs about 132g; the bigger 52mm model weighs 136g. Snap Inc has been spreading the word about the new glasses for a while now. Earlier this year, it even spun off its smart glasses team into a subsidiary called Specs Inc. Its proprietary LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) display delivers a 51-degree field of view and 16 million colors. Snap says the device gives the feel of a 24-inch desktop monitor when you're working, and of a 115-inch home cinema screen placed about 10 feet away when watching a movie. A pair of custom stereo speakers and 6x high-SNR MEMS microphones are built into the temples of the smartglasses to deliver open-ear audio while you cast a screen, stream content, open a whiteboard, or collaborate with others. Snap Inc. patted itself on the back, saying the smartglasses don't need tethering or a puck to connect to a computer. Under the hood, SPECS draw its power from two Snapdragon processors: one for computer vision and another for running Lenses. The device supports fast hand tracking, low latency, and responsive interactions that help digital content feel anchored in the real world, according to the company, which claims that SPECS can "deliver 7-millisecond motion-to-photon latency." The smartglasses offer up to four hours of battery life on a single charge while providing AI assistance, Bluetooth notifications, Lenses, audio/video playback, and more. The battery life could jump to 20 hours of mixed use when the charging case is included. Image: Snap Inc. You can view and interact with AR Lenses anchored directly to the physical world around you, and an on-board AI assistant uses the camera to see what's around to answer questions or provide real-time help with tasks. Snap Inc. noted that it filed more than 7,000 patents during the development of SPECS. It's trying to build the required digital ecosystem around the smartglasses, and said that developers have already published hundreds of Lenses for SPECS. Moreover, their electrochromic lenses use the same technology available in Boeing 787 Dreamliner windows, enabling them to shift from clear to tinted in just 10 seconds when you walk out of your house. Snap SPECS are now available for pre-order on the official website with a $2,195 price tag ($200 refundable deposit). The smartglasses are expected to ship in the US, UK, and France during the Fall this year.
    • Sound Booster 1.13 Build 575 by Razvan Serea Increase volume on your laptop. Boost the volume of even very quiet speakers. Raise volume above maximum. Letasoft Sound Booster can be used as an extra amplifier when the volume of the program you are listening to is too low for comfortable listening and you feel that your PC’s speakers can produce a louder sound. This can be the case when the audio or video has been recorded at the level below normal. Or, for example, when the other person’s microphone you are talking to on Skype, is not working properly. There can be a plenty of other reasons why the sound is being too quiet and there is not much you can do about it except buy external speakers. Sound of any application that is being played in the system can be amplified up to 500%. Letasoft Sound Booster can raise volume of programs like web browsers, on-line communication software (Teams, Discord, Zoom), any kind of media player or games. Simply put, volume of virtually any program that can play any sound in PC, can be boosted to a comfortable level with Letasoft Sound Booster. You can control current volume with the pop-up slider from the system tray. Alternatively, you can assign system-wide hot keys for increasing and decreasing, and use them when you need to adjust volume Letasoft Sound Booster constantly monitors current gain level and prevents samples from clipping, thus reducing all major sound distortions.
