Why do I not believe it?

You probably don't believe it because he has a cinema setup like that and no digital camera. :D

Well I have a 30+ thousand dollar setup and I don't own a digital camera for two reasons. I don't use a camera that much and secondly I don't tend to post pictures of myself or my own home. I'm a very private person.

yeah Squibbles, i would have thought that that setup wasn't likely a couple of days ago, but today i went around to a new friend of mines house and hes like 'yeah, thats my home theatre in there', and i go in, and he has this huge 5:1 setup (the size of that woofer :pinch:), a roof mounted projector, this huge yamaha receiver, dvd player, cd player, xbox, and like a 100 dvds. so i fired up his xbox and played halo 2. hot damn, that was an experience. :p

edit: ^someone enjoys there Donkey Konga. :p

Hey deepfried is that a plasma ya have there. If that is a plasma be warned that those things burn-in pretty quick. Because I have an HD Tivo I tend to watch many Fox shows for a long period of time and that damn Fox13 logo is nicely annoying me on the right hand corner. So now when I watch CBS shows the CBS logo gets blocked out by the Fox logo burnt into my screen. The fox wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't on for 3/4 of the show and a dark blue color logo at that. I'm almost thinking about trashing that damn thing and getting a DLP set because that has been driving me nuts the last few days. It actually ruins the shows because my eyes can't stay away from it.

Yeah, it is a plasma television. I know how serious burn-ins are with these types of televisions but so far, nothing drastic has happened also. You can always burn-off the images though it may take quite a long time depending on how bad it is. I had a slight burn-in when I was using 4:3 mode for just a few minutes and that just vanished after a few seconds once I switched back to 16:9.

Woah, Nice (Y) :o

This is my current setup in my living room. All of the electronics were purchased while I was in college except for the component video selector. I plan on moving everything here except for a game console or two into my bedroom after I get married. Then I will purchse some bigger (at least 50" DLP or LCD) and better stuff for my living room.

I designed the entertainment center and my dad built it for me (for free!). It was built in four parts. The top, two sides, and the bottom. Each part is made with grooves so that it fits together perfectly. I designed it like this so it would be easy to move. I was going to make the top shelf smaller at first then decided to make it larger so it can store DVDs, picture frames, or larger speakers, etc...

Description:

1, 2 and 3 - Bose Cubes

4 - CD Cases

5 - Phillips DVD 724 (Progressive scan)

6 - HD Cable Box

7 - DVD Drawer - comes out all the way, stores 56 standard DVD cases

8 - Sony STR-DE597

9 - Toshiba 42H83

10 - XBOX

11 - PS2

12 - 8 input Component Video Selector w/ Optical Digital Audio & LAN

13 - Video game drawer - same as DVD Drawer

14 - GameCube

15 - Bose Bass Module - Acoustimass 6

EDIT: I use component video cables for DVD player, Cable Box, XBOX, PS2 & GameCube. I use monster cales for DVD & Cable and use factory cables for the game consoles. I also use Optical Digital Audio for PS2, XBOX, HD Cable Box; Coax Digital for DVD & regular cables for GameCube (which I think is the only option?). I only use the component video switcher for the game consoles. My Cable box has a DVI out, but it is not enabled. I hope to get a DVD player with DVI out at some point so I can finally use the DVI input on my TV.

    • Ninja Theory's new Hellblade game is action-focused and set in Purgatory by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe Ninja Thery has been building its award-winning Hellblade series since 2017, delivering Senua's Sacrifice and Senua's Saga since then. Today at the 2026 Xbox Games Showcase, the studio had a brand-new installment announcement featuring Senua again, but this time, she is in a version of purgatory, and the focus is on the action. Simply named Senua, this new entry is described as a "full-on action-adventure" experience, delivering an expanded focus on combat, puzzle-solving, and freedom of exploration. The developer says that it is keeping the same high production values and storytelling features of the previous games while giving what players have been asking for in the gameplay department. The entirety of Ninja Theory is now working on Senua, giving the project much more manpower than ever before, while also letting the team draw on its action roots from Devil May Cry and prior titles. However, the studio also confirmed that its previously announced Project Mara horror experience is no longer in development. Alongside snappier traversal moves, Senua will be able to take stealth and direct combat routes. She has access to her own sword, plus any enemy weapons as well, with dual wielding also being an option for most dropped melee swords, axes, and other weapons. Outside of melee combat, Senua will be able to use special abilities that let her alter the reality around her. The world is said to be about twice the size of Hellblade 2. While this won't be an open-world experience, the linear story will let players explore their surroundings further than before. The story of Senua will be set after the events of previous Hellblade titles, with our protagonist being stuck in her own version of Purgatory. The series' well-explored psychosis themes will return as well. "She’s trapped between life and death on a quest to reach the afterlife and be reunited with the ones that she’s loved and lost," adds the studio. "Her belief is that by healing the wounds of her life, she can find the peace that is the key that unlocks the gate to the afterlife." Senua is releasing on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation 5 sometime in 2027.
    • Windows has had it, it's called camera frame server. I recall when it was first introduced in an early Windows 10 release it caused issues and there was a registry entry to disable it. Seems like they disabled it by default at some point. Windows 11 brought that toggle to the settings app (not just registry) a while ago.
    • You didn't like Mafia The Definite Edition? As a fan of the first when it came out, I liked that remake.
