disable gcasDtServ.exe proccess

hello People i'm just testing the New Microsoft Antispyware Beta 1,i've disabled all type of agents and real time running features of the application

but still,there is a process running on my PC on every startup

the gcasDtServ.exe

any way to disable it? don't want to erase it though,neither change of antispyware :unsure:

what should i do?

Yeah, that always runs after intalling MSAS Beta.

Look through your registy under current user > Software > Microsoft > Windows > Explorer > current version > Run

and delete the entry.

however, I'm sure that after you run MSAS Beta that it'll put itself back there.

ahhh,i supposed it was going to be like that,

i'll have to investigate what exactly this process does,if it doesen't affects the spyware scans,i'll delete it

This is actually a known issue, the service should be hidden when launching MSAS, it is easily seen using the ALT-Tab Tweak UI Utility.

run then msconfig and uncheck the gcasDtServ.exe that worked for me

I've removed the startup entry and moved a step further.

I removed the file from memory and renamed it to see if it causes any problems.

Ideally, I want the program to be on-demand and not have any real-time protection.

If I don't post back, it looks as if everything went well. :p

Booo, it doesn't run at all without that file available.

It looks like they want to make sure you have even more processes!

I scan my computer several times with the microsoft spyware but i seems the it cant find a lot of stuff i rather use ad-aware or spy bot.
