I used to code in c++ and I look up at you for having the concentration skill to build win programs in it :s. I hadn't really thought of a packet sniffer... but there you go, I used to program in vb6 and I agree that not having to download the 20mb .net runtime is a big plus but .net's features outway it's cons for me... I'll dig out etheral, thanks for the tip off.

I don't velieve that .NET runtimes is an issue... I mean, c'mon, is just 20mb and it's something it's going to be installed by default on the next windows, so, everyone will probabaly have it. For VB6 you also need VB runtimes files, it's only 1mb, but hey, you need them :p

But anyway... what does that leaves too? Are you going to talk at least to see if you develop the same project or what? :D

im not sure if i really understand what you are try to say here

I do like the idea of developing a single messenger client, ive never been in a team where there has been more then a single coder. There seems to be very little coders these days :( that are willing to do something as crazy as an entire Messenger client. Two heads are indeed better then a single head, though both programmers have different ideas a suitable programming language. Well i do like C# its kinda the child of C++, though I can't see how it will work, and what Messenger would we keep? Or would we scrap both?

Edited by LeeC1987

but why? why have 2 new messengers being developed? I just can't understand why... I know choice is good but there already many choices out there, why 2 more when we can have just one more? but that's just me and it seems i'm the only one that would prefer you guys to join up.

about what code to keep or what language to use, that would be up to you and I think you should discuss it privately and see if you are going to work together or not and what language/code would you use/code in.

and there arn't any other note taking apps?

fine with that, it's your choice, i'm cool with that :) just sharing my thoughts ;)

@Sam

First of all. I don't care if there is 1 or millions of notes apps. I couldn't find one that worked the way I WANTED and I developed that one FOR ME. I did it for me AND ONLY FOR ME. When do you people get that in your heads? I could have kept it for myself only but I decided to share it with everyone else, what's the problem in that? Sue me if you want.

And to finish my counter-attack to your pointless argument that in nothing contributed to the discussion or development of nexus or nova messenger: I just gave my opinion to nexus and nova development and as far as I know, I have every right to post my opinion.

To everyone else, sorry about that, it was a personal attack and I had to answer.

P.S: Thanks to the free publicity to my site and my app :p

Gaim and Kopete.....

Urgh sorry they're crap.. none supports all the functions of msn messenger.. Amsn is better than Gaim and kopete.. At least it comes pretty close to what msn messenger is offering

Well its been a while guys, but here it is.

Nexus Latest

I?m tired from making this build, and kind of upset you think the old coder had something to do with these builds. Might be reason I stop Nexus if I do, people seem to think Nexus was part developed by the original coder. All of my mates said it was a bad mistake to resurrect this project, as you will never be seen as the person who made it, just the person who carried it on. ?They won?t ever think of you as the creator?: Let me make this straight, the only thing he made was the name. I feel like its just as pointless as the other projects i start and dont finish.

A lot of thanks go to Cryptic_Night [Darrien] in this build, for copying all the emoticons to images and tag files. He saves me a lot of time? and he deserves some credit.

To me you are the creator of this project as the other guy did not give you any code to work from just allowed you to use the Nexus name and logo. Please continue this project!

hum... about the thing everyone seemed to avoid: why don't you change it's name? a new logo could also be nice and a new skin of course. And then, you'll probbly be identified as the creator of "___________". I leave the name to you :p Nexus is a cool name but that's not what matters most.

2 versions of banner:

outline : http://img169.echo.cx/img169/16/outline4dm.jpg

nooutline: http://img169.echo.cx/img169/2526/nooutline2sn.jpg

Maybe I should think of a way to blend the logo in better?

The outline is nice, but how bout outlining the "nexus" word to combine with the logo ?

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
