Hello everyone!

A few days ago, I sat down and wrote a new Module Editor for AutoPatcher. The old one was a bit messy, so this time I came up with a new UI. The About box is still missing, but the main functions are there. I need people like TheBlazingAngel and M2Ys4U (="am too wise for you"? hehe!) to test this and provide suggestions etc.

Thanks,

Antonis

Problems:

-When you drag an amc file to the opened editor, no data is loaded

-If you double-click an amc file associated to the Module Editor it opens with no data

-Tab order on Behavior and Operating System tab is out of order

Suggestions:

-Operating System, Detection, Installation tab "Supported Flags" (can you change the on_mouse_over icon to a hand for easier identification?)

-General tab (Browse button for Thumbnail option?)

Comments:

-I like the added viewing space for the "Supported flags?" option. Also, it's really helpful to see the installation code line-by-line

-The tabbed interface is much easier for category separation

-Once again, awesome job Raptor ;)

a few points:

1)you need to point out that the time is in seconds.

2)you may want to put a hidden description for the priority box to help beginners know what to put.

3)possibly include a finish tab.

it could have a save button, and also include some notes:

a)about setting up the module folder and what to put in it.

b)about making the parent modules and including them.

c)about zipping them all up and renaming .zip to .amp

d)about them appearing as unofficial and a link to the forum where you can get them officiated (not sure if thats even a word :) ).

possibly have just a link for each which will expand down with an explanation.

or alternatively include a help file, and a note to use it to find out how to do them.

I really like the new layout, but personally im not 100% sure of the colors and prefer the previous look.

and the look really needs to be the same throughout for everything (entire program).

apart from that its great :D

Paratrupr:

-When you drag an amc file to the opened editor, no data is loaded
Will do.
-If you double-click an amc file associated to the Module Editor it opens with no data
Will do.
-Tab order on Behavior and Operating System tab is out of order
Will do. I always fix tabstops last :p
-Operating System, Detection, Installation tab "Supported Flags" (can you change the on_mouse_over icon to a hand for easier identification?)
I'll make the color change on mouseovers.
-General tab (Browse button for Thumbnail option?)
Will do. Try drag'n'drop for now!
-I like the added viewing space for the "Supported flags?" option. Also, it's really helpful to see the installation code line-by-line
Installation boxes are now multiline, if that's what you mean.
-The tabbed interface is much easier for category separation
That's the main reason I rewrote the editor.
-Once again, awesome job Raptor
Thanks!

BlazingAngel:

-you need to point out that the time is in seconds.

Will do.

-you may want to put a hidden description for the priority box to help beginners know what to put.

I'll think of something.

-possibly include a finish tab.

We'll see.

Expect these is 2.0.2:

- When saving, Module Editor will:

a. Write a file named i.e modulefilename.amc

b. Create a folder named i.e modulefilename.amc_files

c. If there was an old _files folder (i.e when opening an official module and using Save As to save it elsewhere), it will copy the old files over.

d. There's a special place to add more files. When saving, Module Editor will copy them over to the new module folder.

Awesome job, Raptor!

heres some of the things I found:

Help -> About does not work.

If after clicking on "Supported Flags?" you goto another tab, the flag box remains - is this a bug or a feature?

I'd also like a tooltip/baloon/default text as to what exactly to put in the boxes.

The ability to open .amc files with the prog/drag them into the prog would be neat, too.

a "Browse..." button on the thumbnail box would make life alot simpler as well.

Still, very nice work, keep it up! ;)

^ Well, the user may specify as many flags as he wants. So drop downs wouldnt work. Instead I have enabled drag'n'drops between the Flag Lists and the boxes. In other words, if you click on Operating System's Supported Flags, you can select "ANY_2K_VERSION" (just an example) and drag it into the OS box.

Isn?t it possible then to make the flags selectable through just one left click? In other words, when you left click on a particular flag the required string gets selected. For the selection of more then one flag the control key should be used in conjunction. At this moment, when I use drag?n?drop, in the box the flag will be followed by two squares (□□). Is this intended?

Thanks,

Edwin

New build out!

Dragging an amc file to the editor works, but if you double-click an amc file, you get a Run-time error '52' (see image below)

Also, you might want to add a "Save?" option when you close a modified amc.

Someone mentioned yesterday about the color scheme. I'd have to agree, although I'm no graphics designer. The icon is orangish-yellow; so maybe incorporate that in to wash out some of that white space...Food for thought

I see the "About" is added, thanks for the props ;) I guess if you really get bored you *could* throw in a .chm file for Help.

I noticed this error after I posted here. So it's now fixed.

Good call.

But I like blue/white UI :p

No problem. Maybe you could take care of the .chm?

Could you seperate the images (eg. ap_n_n_n.jpg) from the three tools in the AutoPatcher\Tools folder.

Either give them the 'hidden' property, incorporate them into the program itself somehow, or bung them in a seperate folder.

The images will go under \bin folder eventually.

Ehm, AutoPatcher Module Editor 2.0 is only available in English.

Tai i?sakyk savo abejones dėl ?od?ių, stengiaus i?versti taip, kad visi suprastų, ir per daug nenusi?engti lietuvių kalbos taisykl:)ms :) Pageidautina, ra?ykSorry for not understandable language for many, I just told people that are unhappy with the translation to contact me via PM.M.

in the operating system tab, when double clicking a flag to put it in an empty box, it puts a comma in front as if it always expects something to be there already

it needs to detect when the box is empty or not and therefore decide whether to include a comma!

Next on my list :)

Yet an other build out!

Changes:

- "Supported Flags?" boxes now react on double click. Depending on the box, it will add the selected text.

- Many many bug fixes!

Looking good, but I still think you should have a logo, or a gradient or something in that hige amount of whitespace...

Other than that I can't see anythign wrong w/ it.
