I bet that yellow image put you over the KB limit for sigs. It's 50KB total.

Not complaining, but I thought the rules said no flashing avatars or sigs.

If the avatar/signature is overly distracting, ie. bright flashing colors, animated sigs (i.e. GIF's/Flash)

I see a lot of these, so maybe that part of the rule has changed..if so, maybe it should be edited to reflect such change. I mean NO disrespect to any mods/admins or Neowin users. Just trying to clarify this.

Again, no disrespect meant here. but I think

is "bright flashing colors" if it isn't what is? Please danellis, don't take this personal.. it's nothing against you. I'm just trying to find where the line is. Granted I know you can disable all avatars and sigs, but I like seeing most of them. And it says, in that part that I quoted from the rules, "animated sigs", that's pretty cut and dry. Yet I see a lot that have moving text..and images in them, isn't that what animated means? Moving? I don't want to sit here and point them out. I only used danellis because Joel said it was (Y) . And I'm not questioning the Mods or Admins, just trying to make sure I understand what's allowed and what's not. :ninja:

lol don't worry about it I have a whole fanclub for my avatar :D. I personally don't see anything wrong with it because it's not overly distracting. If it is getting on too many peoples nerves though I'll remove it :p.

[offtopic]

You should have awards for the most annoying/interesting avatars and sigs.  You can have nominees and then a poll on who the winner is .

That is what the monthly avatar and signature threads are for. Although i agree we should have a contest. Doesnt have to be a prize but just you get your avie and sig shown off :)

yep well the monthly avatar and signature threads are really to show off your avatar and signature. I wouldn't mind not having a prize but it would be a good laugh .

Think seizure-inducing Google ads. That's the idea.

LOL ok.. thanks for clearing that up. :D

Edit:

No, it doesn't bother me at all. Personally if one bothers me, I just block it. :D so don't worry about it. Guess I'm just playing devils advocate here.

So, Chad, since you removed my signature image as including text + image it was over 170 Pixels.

When will you be removing Stevens image?

At present his (Including image and text) is 196 Pixels high, exceeding the 170 pixels allowed. Picky? nah, you did it with me :/

Steven, this is not a dig at you at all, more of a Question to the staff as to why MINE was removed without notification, yet others are staying. If you can edit my signature then a PM is only 1 click and a few words away, come on, its not that hard.

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
