im going to try out beagle. heres my shot. not much changed, higher resolution though :happy:

I would wait for it to become stable. Right now I don't even bother use it, as it's crashed on me quite a few times already. It's also quite a pain to setup as you need the latest dbus, mono and a few other deps I think.

Here's my .xinitrc file also if you care, which launches the dbus --session, which beagled and best need to connect to.

  GNU nano 1.3.4              File: .xinitrc

dbuslaunch="`which dbus-launch 2>/dev/null`"
if [ -n "$dbuslaunch" ] && [ -x "$dbuslaunch" ] && [ -z "$DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDR$  eval `$dbuslaunch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session`
fi

exec gnome-session

$ ps ax | grep dbus

should return something like this:

10936 ?        Ss     0:00 /usr/bin/dbus-daemon-1 --system
13125 ?        Ss     0:00 dbus-daemon-1 --fork --print-pid 8 --print-address 6 --session
13126 tty1     S      0:00 /usr/bin/dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session

What did he do wrong :p ?  You don't know that he has red hat... Some people like to customize their desktop environment with the Red Hat since they think it looks neat :)

It's a red head, because there is the "updated" icon of red head in the taskbar ;)

I think he is referring to the vertical bar you have on the right-hand side of your screenshot.

I think he might have been referring to the fact that he was running as root, which is a bad idea, and you should never do it. ;)

:blush: Yeah i'm still new to Linux so I'll make sure I won't log into root again.

As for the red hat icon... That was there when I updated from FC2 to FC3... I haven't actually done any customizations.. Still trying to get everything I need to work.
