I AM using the unicode version, and the arabic writing shows up on the "Log" part too, but the nick doesn't show:

See the nick says the same thing typed in at the bottom, but it shows "???" instead.

Thanks for the help though.

edit: the contact list shows ??? as well.

I had the same problem at some stage, cant remeber how I got rid of it

EDIT:

I think its got something to do with your list font, try changing it to a unicode one

well i recently switched to miranda and iam liking it a lot.. but i have one problem. HOw would i set it up so that new msg pop up instead of the icon in the systray flashing and having me to click on the nick to open the msg up?

It took me about a dozen installations (i.e. more than a dozen attempts to customize) to get things working and I was having thoughts similar to yours at one point. But guess what, it won't work even if somebody did post their folders zipped up because no one would want to post their profiles and you have to reconfigure things for every different profile.

So read the posts with the directions "properly" starting from the beginning and make sure you put things in the right place and the version numbers of the different plugins are correct, and things should work.

Maybe the author is using another font for the nickname, which does not support unicode characters. Try to change it in the css-file...

Thanks for the idea, and I just tried that but to no avail. I even changed it to "Traditional Arabic" and it still shows ??? in the place of the nick

Do I specifically need RTL templates for Arabic fonts to show up? (hope the answer isn't obvious, in which case I'll be an idiot)
