In the previous versions you could set an avatar under Options>Network>MSN, although avatar support may have been broken/changed at some point. Either way I recommend using nightlies, they have always been very stable for me.

What IEView theme are you using? Those with avatar support usually require you to store your avatar in the theme folder. eg. The themes by russelc require you to have a 'myavatar.jpg' containing your display picture in the theme's folder.

After some modding I managed to get it to work lots of fiddling and lots of help at the Miranda forums.

Is anyone noticing users of WLM cannot see their display pictures?

Does anybody know why I can't pin my Miranda to the desktop? If I check the option, Miranda would become completely invisible without a chance to make it visible again. I'm using Miranda 0.4.3 alpha build #44 and clist_modern.dll 0.3.2.17.

This is a pretty obvious question but have you tried restarting Miranda after you select the option to Pin to Desktop? Mine went invisible as well after I selected the option but after restarting Miranda it became visible again. I personally like to leave Miranda as Always On Top.

It's a bug with clist_modern. I switched to clist_nicer+ anyway, but its annoying when I want to use a transparent modern skin.

Hello all, I just clean install the latest version 0.4.3 alpha build #48 and my plyugin clist_modern_mod.dll that I had with an older version of miran doesn't work anymore

As I really want to have avatar displayed in the contact list, is there another plugin that actually works?

thanks

Tried it but it stays invisible. :(

Does anybody know how I can get my chat window to look like this? Do I need the IEview plugin or is there some other way? Where can I get this template at? Any help is appreciated.

That can be achieved using just tabSRMM and its built in template editor. I don't know if these templates can be shared at the moment (save template option is always greyed out for me), but it should be easy to recreate. The font is Frutiger Linotype I think, and you could get the colours using Photoshop or similar.

Also you'll need the visual style that monofonik is using, assuming you want the window to look exactly the same. It's obviously some sort of Luna mod but I have no idea what it is...

rightclick at trayicon, Main Menu -> View/Change My Details...

My current Miranda:

This might seem a bit awkward, but I really can't get Miranda working properly, and I always mess up something, and I really like that whole look of your Miranda, so could you PLEASE!!! PLEASE! copy the C:\Program Files\Miranda-IM folder and send it to me?

It's only clist_nicer and tabsrmm, nothing special.

jim-phelps, any chance I could get you to export your message log settings? My setup is pretty similar but I can't seem to get it to exactly what I want I'm not sure if I've got my settings messed up or not. Thanks a lot.

    • No, "a great deal" for 32GB of DDR5 is $50, not $350. I mean I see what you mean, that it's a decent price compared to what's currently available, but you really should put a disclaimer in this articles explaining that it's still multiple times more expensive than it used to be.
    • Linux 7.1 stable launch looms as Linus Torvalds releases the final release candidate by Paul Hill Linus Torvalds has just released what’s expected to be the final release candidate of Linux 7.1, rc7. The Linux founder said that this RC is not small, but smaller than recent releases, which is a good sign because he expects the stable version to drop next week if things continue on this trajectory. Linux kernels see a merge window for the first two weeks of their life, where developers add new features, then there are about seven or eight weeks of release candidates before the stable version. Typically, there are seven release candidates, but if more time is needed, then an eighth release candidate is released too. This week’s RC’s biggest area of fixes was for GPUs, with networking just behind. Torvalds said that the rest of the release was “pretty random and spread out” with some architecture fixes, driver fixes, filesystem improvements, and build fixes for more unusual configs. In terms of specific pieces of hardware receiving improvements in this update, we had more AMD Zen6 models supported and fixes for AMD SDMA 7.1 and GFX11. Hardware that got improvements includes Lenovo laptops, HONOR laptops, and MSI laptops. Here are the changelogs for those: ASoC: amd: acp: Add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Pro 7 15ASH11 Input: atkbd - add DMI quirk for Lenovo Yoga Air 14 (83QK) Input: atkbd - skip deactivate for HONOR BCC-N's internal keyboard ASoC: amd: yc: Add MSI Raider A18 HX A9WJG to quirk table ASoC: amd: yc: Enable internal mic on MSI Bravo 17 C7VF When the stable Linux 7.1 is released, it will be up to distribution maintainers, such as Canonical and Red Hat, to release the update to their users via the update manager. Some versions of Linux will get it before others, and some will never get it at all. Fedora and Arch-based distros will be among the first to get it, though. If you don’t get it, the security fixes will be backported to your system’s kernel, so you won’t be at risk, but you won’t get newer hardware support, which is fine if your computer works now.
