WindowsXP Pro x64 released to manufacturing

Just in time for me. I'll be trading in my copy of Pro for one of these beasts in April and then in July, I'll build my system based on a 64-bit processor.

so does XP 64 include all of XP 32's Service Pack 2 patches/features? And how will this work in the future? Do they port patches at the same time, or do we have to wait a few days/weeks for the 64 release?

Finally, I can really use my processor what it is designed for, 64 bit. I wonder when they will come out with coporate version. In my opinion coporate version is always better becasue you don't have to go through the activation junk every time you replace you HD or major hardware. However, I can't wait to install it.

no offensive to Intel or anything, they are good but Microsoft could of got this out a lot earlier if Intel put EMT64 on there chips at a similar time when AMD did.

Well, they had to wait for AMD's chips to come out and then reverse engineer it, so that took a little time. We're lucky they did it at all because if they didn't this might not be out.

It take it you mean volume licensing, as 'corp/corporate' is a warez term. The volume isnt a seperate version, all it is is a different cd-key and a different PID. This will be out at the same time.

*edit*hajj_3: what do you mean by a link? Are you talking about a warez link or a link to get it from Microsoft?
