WindowsXP Pro x64 released to manufacturing

Recommended Posts

Im so waiting for longhorn as well, this is just not good for me... looks promising i might give it a try if get curious again but longhorn is in 2006 so im thinking i can wait... windows xp pro sp2 is still an awesome os.

Im posting this from my 64bit edition by the way. :)

guys, why would you want to download XP 64bit??

apparently Microsoft is going to have an exchange program, so that when XP64bit ships, within 3 months all cusomers with Windows XP will be able to exchange their copy of windows for Windows 64bit FREE

That's why you should wait until late April to install this.  One month is good enough for companies to get drivers worked on.

Well, I'm going to HAVE to wait, but the sucky thing is, I've already got drivers for everything else. Besides, I mostly want to see how the OS is going to react as opposed to reg. WinXP. I really don't think it's ready for primetime yet, so it wouldn't be the main OS.

Well, maybe because they have MSDN subscriptions and they get XP 32bit and 64bit for free anyhow?

With a AMD64 3200+ and a GF 6800NU, I got a 10-30% FPS increase in America's Army and a 5% increase in my 3DMark05 score in the RC2 (both are 32-bit games), so I can't wait until 64-bit games start coming out :).

Anyone know if they'll still have a 360 day trial of XP Pro x64 final (like the RC2)?

No, no 360 day trials for RTM.

can someone verify that this is on msdn and how big the download size in megabytes and also how many bytes it is please.

thanks!

Yes, it's been on MSDN since Thursday evening. You can log into your account (you do have an MSDN account, don't you?) and find out everything you need to know.

i really want it. i can provide an ftp server that can allow 400k/sec upload speed to it for someone to upload it to me. PLEASEEEE!

Look brain surgeon, anyone giving you access to their MSDN account can be prosecuted my Microsoft. You can wait to obtain it legally, just like everyone else.

got it now anyway !

to the guy asking about 64bit drivers for hdd, you get x64 by doing the following:

You can download the Nforce 64 Bit drivers from Nvidia on your current OS and start the installation so it extracts the drivers and such, then cancel the installation after all the files have been extracted and you see the "Welcome to the installsheild Wizard" screen. The drivers for the Nvraid controller will be at C:\NVIDIA\nForceWinXP64\6.39\IDE\WinXP copy all these files except the raidtool folder to the floppy disk.

thats it, works a treat, now detects my sata raid 0 harddrive now, windows is really quick now :)

With features like HTTPS Everywhere and built-in tracker blocking, Brave keeps your online activities safe from prying eyes. Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. And it does all this by default. Speed - Brave is built on Chromium, the same technology that powers Google Chrome, and is optimized for speed, providing a fast and responsive browsing experience. Brave Browser also features Brave Rewards, a system that rewards users with Basic Attention Tokens (BAT) for viewing opt-in ads. This innovative system provides an alternative revenue model for content creators and a way to support the Brave community. SlimBrave Neo takes all the good things about Brave and makes them even better by keeping everything clean, light, and privacy-focused. It removes the extra clutter, turns off features you might not need, and cuts down on anything that could slow you down or collect unnecessary data. Because it relies on simple settings and policies instead of modifying the browser itself, you still get full Brave compatibility—just in a smoother, lighter, and more privacy-friendly package.
