[Definitive] Xbox 360 Thread

My suggestions / hopes for the XBox 360:

1) Some sort of Mouse control. I don't mean a keyboard and a mouse, but how about a mouse and a custom designed controller meant for one hand? That way you would have the best control scheme (mouse) but still not be labled too much as a computer

2) More USB ports are needed. I believe there is only 3 on the ones they have shown. If you can charge the controllers using USB, and there are 4 controllers, it doesn't add up.

3) Make it easier to transfer profiles. Perhaps even allow each player in a multiplayer game to connect to XBox Live and their profile for the current game could be loaded from there and stored on the local machine.

4) Allow for easy upgrade of optical drive in the event that more space is needed before it's life is over.

What do you guys think about this?

1) I see no point in this, they are going to have a Media Center Remote for it besides the standard controller.

2) true, I think there should be at least 4 so that you can charge the 4 controllers. would a usb hub solve the problem?

3) that would require a lot of server-side storage space so I doubt that will materialize, but its a nice though.

4) this is good too, but the problem is there is no standard exactly yet, but it would be nice to be able to easily upgrade, definitely.

1) Sorry, I meant for playing first person shooters. A mouse/keyboard combo is the best in my and a lot of gamer's opinions

2) I think there should be four up front and one or two in the back.

3) I guess I could also use memory cards :p

4) I agree. I'd wait until there is a standard and wait until the price and performance is where it should be before thinking about an upgrade.

I wish all the 'this system owns another' people would relax. They really don't look like they'll be much different in terms of power, no one can honestly say they look to be much different (well the ps3 and xbox 360). I'm looking at both here, we'll see once they launch.

Since the sequel to Morrowind will be coming out for the xbox 360 first, it has a good probability of me buying it, though. ;)

Oh, I'm sure it will cause morrowind was on xbox... I think oblivion will be on ps3 and 360 if I'm not mistaken :)

Elder Scrolls??

ELDER SCROLLS?!?!?!

How could you even THINK about thinking about any game apart from Perfect Dark Zero!! Holy Mother Of Everything Sane and Colourful! PERFECT DARK ZERO!!

I've waited for that game since i completed the N64 version, and that was too long ago, so it's time to get the 360, kick back and OWN :woot:

I can just like some other people :p

I'm a sucker for the Elder Scrolls franchise.

I think Xbox 360 is a better machine than PS3 or Revolution! I don't understand why everyone is talking about PS3.

Xbox 360 OWNS PS3!!!

Wow, so you've played all 3? Nice! Good on you! So what games did you play on PS3 and Rev? What were they like?

I'll probably be gettin both systems. But it would be nice to have one of these systems do a full 43 car nascar field.

Yeah yeah, I like Nascar. This is somehting I've been requesting since xbox launched and I was able to play 12 players on Nascar Heat through gamespy. Man was that fun. Then EA comes along, and puts a Full 4 car xbox live race online. What a waste.

A word of warning, I wouldn't get Morrowind on any console instead of the PC version. What made Morrowind big was the fact that there was millions of user made add-ons, which made the world like 100x bigger, added a crap-load of races, items, weapons, missions, quests, etc. People who had the console version of Morrowind were left out of everything. If you get the console version of Morrowind you will be missing out on like 99% of what makes Morrowind a great game.

I DON'T think PS3's Online service (Definitely NOT Nintendo) will match Xbox 360's.

You make very big assumptions. It is not like Sony and Nintendo are new fish in a big pond with online gaming. Sony has had Sony Online, which has been around for awhile, but never encorporated in every game. It shouldn't be that difficult for them to make the service on a larger scale, they have the money and resources to do so. Nintendo has partnered up with IGN/Gamespy for the DS and it is not unrealistic to say they can use them for the Revolution. GameSpy has alot more experience with providing online services then Xbox Live does so I think that would count for something.

wohoo lol true words of wisdom

well said mate

i wouldnt rule anything out at the moment. But apparently revolution is coming a bit late so :(

hoping xbox360 will be as good as people an M$ say it will be coz im getting one...

offcourse this time round i will be getting the PS3 also...

I agree, the user content was great. But I really have to reprioritise things so I won't be upgrading my current PC for a while... I'm hoping they allow better use of custom content on the next gen consoles this time around. This time they are planning console support earlier on, so things should be less of an afterthought.

And in regards to an earlier post, the TES IV page mentions 'next gen consoles', which would seem to imply PS3 too at some point.

    • Seems like Neowin has transitioned into being simps for the white house. I can't find a review for the last UFC games that came out.
