With the risk of getting slapped in the face by em3 I raise my hand for an alt. start button for the royale version

I like the royale style alot but I'm also for minimalism so that's why I'd like to see the smaller startbutton. I was thinking of maybe I could mod it. But I have limited skills in stylebuilder. I can only do basic mods. So maybe if someone (em3) told me how to just exchange the startbutton that would be great :D

I found an iconpackager theme that works well with the royal styles.  it's xp icandy by foood.  http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/1123456/

omg i hate those icons....i feel the element icon pack works quite well with all of the shellstyles :-D

Like I have said in the first post. "Please keep mods personal". pcrot please remove your image.

pcw, and everyone else who never are happy...:hmmm: if you wish to have a smaller startbutton the the only thing that is safe to edit/remove is the width of the start button image, since it's truesize (doesn't stretch).

Sure thing mate. :D Could a mod please remove those coz I can't seem to edit my post.

I'm very sorry, and I know many won't agree with me, but I disagree with em3. OK, fine, I always loved Luna Element, but that doesn't mean it's perfect. em3, you have to accept that you aren't the best in everything, and that there are some good improvements being made by fans. You should be honored with this, and certainly that's not what's happening.

Yep, I know you created it and you have the rights to do whatever you want with it, but I also have the right to say my opinion, and this is what I'm doing now. I don't want you to take this as a claim that you will use to threaten us that you'll quit working with LunaElement, but I want you to read it and think about it... maybe I'm being a little selfish, but I get sad when I see some great work by other people and having to PM them asking for it instead of being able to download directly. BTW, have you ever thought about this? We have PMs, we have each other Messenger accounts, and many ways to get their mods... so no much point in keeping it a secret, as it will most of the times leak.

It sounds like I should keep LE3 to myself when it gets made. [...]

I know, people uses to get really annoying wanting you to do exactly what they want and to have it done NOW. Someone else says what "would be great to have done", and does not whine when you think your idea is better. The smallest part of them tries to modify what they have, and sometimes their result is a honorable piece of work. Like some other themer does, you could examine the mod before authorizing its relase, thus being sure to not insult your original (and wonderful, as I said many times) work.

This is just my own idea, and what I'd do if I were a talented designer as you are. But of course: your work, your rules.

I fully agree with em3. This thread has become a whining thread for the last few pages...

This theme is absolutely perfect in MY opinion. If you would like to make some modifications keep them for you or take what you have!

We have a chance to have em3 to make such a great theme!

People should post bugs to improve this visual style not personal opinions or whining about little things that would please only one person!

I think people help em3 when they design their mods, because instead of other people that keep asking and filling em3's ears with ideas, they do it by theirselves, helping the theme to get richer.

most of the good things of the world were made by more than one person...

585900288[/snapback]

No offence, but this is someones hard work you are talking about here. Not something that everyone has to use. Em3 has already said that he doesn't want his work modified and spread about, it's as simple as that.

If people want to change it to their fancy, they can do so with stylebuilder, and keep their modifications to themselves.

EDIT: Just to add my opinion, but people download a theme to use it as it is, they like the way it looks. I like the way it looks as do many others, Em3 likes the way it looks and he wants his theme to publicly apear the way he meant it to.

That's why I have to take some time off from neowin and I will no longer be posting anything here. only on deviantart. it becomes a real turnoff and unmotivates you to make something.

You did a fine job em3. Don't give in to the pressure. it's YOUR design and YOUR style to do with as you please. Make these kiddies learn to do something for themselves.

May be true with some things, but not everything. This might be getting to be a case of "too many fingers in the pie", which in a lot of cases will spoil something.

Remember, it's em3's pie. We all should be thankful he is sharing it with us..

@em3:

Of course you can't please everybody.

And of course it's your decision, which of the suggestions you want to become reality.

And it's understandable that the constant begging and whining gets on your nerves.

But you should not forget that LE wouldn't be as great as it is, if not some of the people here made some really good suggestions for getting it even better.

Maybe you should just ignore the posts which you don't 'like'.

Wow luna Element 3 :woot: I find it hard to believe you can top what you have already done with this theme which is why I haven't updated from version 2 yet, I've downloaded 2.5 and 2.5.1 but will update it just for the heck of it soon.

As far as I am concerned the theme is brilliant and I am thankful for being able to have such a theme the only thing I would have liked is if there were some sort of site or thread that linked to all the Element related material such as wmp skins, winamp skins, xfire skins, wallpapers and of coarse em3's deviantart's site which should be in everyone's favourites/bookmarks by now.

It hasn't phased me in the slightest that there isn't such a site/thread and as I have said I'm glad em3 has given us all this magnificent theme to use, thanks for theme and all the hard work em3.

I have seen a lot of freqently asked questions here perhaps a FAQ on the first post will prevent users from asking the same questions.

I have be visiting Neowin for a few years now and have always felt that Neowin has a very productive and talented community which can be seen through such works as em3's Luna Element theme which is one of the reason why I finally register an account here more recently and have greeted this thread with mixed emotions.

I do hope you will release Luna Element 3 which has got me really anxious to see what sort of improvements are possible which would further showcase your artistic skill in this area but if its going to cause this much grief to you I say do what you feel is right. :)

We've realised how talented em3 is :woot: . I'm waiting for a new exciting, stylish, usable version of this fantastic VS.

I was about to mirror all the stuff people have done to complete this theme and including everything in a "Style Pack", but em3 was right when he said that would be really difficult to keep all these mirrors up to date with newer versions. But I still can make a page with links to every resource. :shifty:

Using a MS standard just means Euro-Office is just a "bastardized MS Office Suite." (Wasn't a major purpose of Euro-Office was to get away from being captive and enslaved to MS's Office Suite??)

Google has some bad news for those still using MV2-based extensions in Chromium-based browsers, particularly Chrome. The company is now removing flags responsible for Manifest V2-based extensions (uBlock Origin is one of the most popular). However, some browsers resist this change, and Opera issued a statement that it will allow users to continue using MV2 extensions for as long as possible. While Microsoft is still not ready to share new details about MV2 extensions in Microsoft Edge, the company shared important details about the way it will be updating the browser going forward. Now, Microsoft wants to update Edge every two weeks across all platforms instead of the current four-week schedule (only the Extended Stable is exempt from this change). This week, Microsoft confirmed a useful new Teams feature that is coming to the messenger soon. It also detailed all the improvements that made the platform better for users in 2026. He took for a spin the DWARF mini, the world's smallest smart telescope for night and day sky captures. It tracks objects in the sky, has a sun filter, and has a low learning curve. There is also nice build quality and a quite affordable price. Pulasthi Ariyasinghe reviewed 007 First Light. The game turned out to be a satisfying spy adventure in the James Bond universe with great gunplay and combat, impressive crowds, over-the-top action sequences, and more. There are a few quirks here and there, but overall, the game scored high on our scale. The latest drop is upgrading the visuals and regional accuracy of three metropolitan regions in the American states of Illinois, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. The 15th city update is adding eight new areas of interest that have been enhanced with high-fidelity TIN (triangulated irregular network) surface texturing in the mentioned regions. The free update highlights Chicago, Elgin, Cicero, and Arlington Heights in Illinois, as well as Minneapolis, St. Paul, Bloomington, Duluth, Brooklyn Park, Woodbury, Lakeville, Plymouth, and Blaine in Minnesota. In Wisconsin, the development has also upgraded the lands and buildings of Milwaukee, Madison, and Racine. The update lands just as one of the world's largest enthusiast flight simulation conventions, FlightSimExpo, kicks off in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 14. The Flight Sim development team's 40-minute keynote at the event can be watched here. At the same time, Microsoft is bringing the 6-seat, single-engine, multi-use light civil airplane Piper M600 into the game as a part of its Expert Series 2 program. This premium plane can be purchased from the in-game marketplace for $24.99.
