Well I have a 2 Mbit connection and my system is very streamlined (hardly anything running in the background, Network Adapters usage at 0.0% during PC standby so no programs are using the connection) and the first few times I played, no matter what server, the game was extremely laggy. Seems to be a lot better now though.

It is possible to view the ping in-game?

Just played again, still laggy. I'd walk up stairs and the next frame I'd be back at the bottom. This is effort, things should just work.

I'm on 1Mb and on a fairly shoddy pc and although I do get this sometimes it's very rarely, and only when the game is first loading a new scene, and only in towns as well.

I have a decent connection and PC so there is something wrong somewhere, either game-wise or server-wise.

Err...you mean a skill? Why did you drag it onto your man? Have you read the online manual? If not it's a good idea if you do.

To view your skills, press K. Then drag whatever skill you want to whichever slot on your skillbar- "those things at the bottom". :)

thats really weird

i never had lag

had few occasional disconnects, but i found out what causes them, it was the router, i had it set to get a new ip every 24 hours, so thats why i was getting disconnected.

and my crash problem was caused by the wonderful ATI drivers. which i got it fixed now too.

How do I send money and items between my RP characters?

You have to make it out of the newbie area so you can utilize the Storage guys. You can put items and money in there then, and all characters outside of newbie land can use it.

I didn't realize until I went post-seer about salvaging items.  Ok so I buy the salvage kit and then double click on the item to be salvaged, where does the element then go?  I don't see it in my inventory to keep track of.

Also how doess a party/guild differ?

It is in your inventory, it just becomes something else like squares of leather or bolts of cloth etc.

And what do you mean how does a party/guild differ? A party is only the 4, 6 or 8 people you go on missions or quests with, a guild can do the same but is also where you do the main part of your PvP stuff in the GvG battles. Among other important differences, guild members can also help you with money and items for better armor or weapons (hopefully)

Just checking, but you did double-click the salvage kit firstheni> double-click the item? Also when you do salvage, some text will pop up and show in the text box, like "you have salvaged 2 Tanned Hide Squares".

      I wonder how many are laid off for cost savings, and this being blamed on AI to make it sound less scary and bad, for a more positive "modern, with the times" spin for investors? Because Oracle is down 14% the past year. We're looking at a company struggling here. If AI would actually be working out so well for them that they can do massive layoffs, surely this would've been reflected the past year in their stock value?

      AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story.
