so it looks like you can plug in the old gamecube controllers?

That is what it looks like. Weird, I thought they would make some universal controller, which would make it revolutionary like a pre-programmable touchpad controller. Now I am clueless what they are making revolutionary. Still they said the console comes with wireless controllers

they will still have their wireless controllers and whatever else they come up with...but i think it makes sense to let you have the regular GC control also so when you play your GC games the controls can be exactly the same....

Thats wat i was implying when i posted, they certainly look like it, my guess is Wireless funky new controlers(and non wireless for people who like trying to unravel there cat fluffy from the controller cables) and also backwards for gamcube controlers for gamecube games. i gotta say its a good idea keeping the same socket its wat sony did twice... mabe not a third time with the new dodgey brothers control

If the controlers do turn out like that it looks like it would support the vr headset stuff everyones hyped about, finally nintendo would be back on top as sony spent all there money on 'blueray technology' and microsoft like to think theres is a console whens it's purely a computer, people will try and argue this but id like to prove my point saying you can install linux on playstion or nintendo products cause there not computers... And i know this cause my other computer is a xbox with linux on it cause im poor:'(

(assuming you meant can't as opposed to can)

I think the fact that the revolution thread is larger than the 360 thread is a testament to the fact that people are considering Nintendo this time around versus' the all too common "sony vs microsoft" going on everywhere.

There's are 3 kinds of people in this world. People easily influenced by hype. People who can see past the hype. And people who don't listen. Anyone who says Nintendo is dead this time around, is just a puppet of hype OR a major sony/ms fanboy who will never listen to you. MS hasn't been around long enough to have a major fanboybase, so most the people vouching them are just hype puppets.

Like, I'm really pumped to see the new "user-interface" Nintendo is introducing. I'm also setting myself up for a major let down. I will probably stick to my pc should I be let down. But if the BIG N pulls through, I may become a gamer again. I'm a gamer at heart, since the age of 3, but the ps2/xbox/gc/dc generation has really dissapointed and isolated me, there was nothing to get excited about. The xbox360 and PS3 simply don't excite me. My computer will be able to do that too soon enough, I'll pickup a snes game and play it through non-stop until finish while CS:S will keep my attention for about 1 hour a week here and there.

Just a slight slip of the tounge what i should have said was strait out of the box compatibility with linux, No games, memory cards, weird funky cables or devices needed to install or use linux :shifty:

I guess the new controller is too (dun dun dun) revolutionary to play games from previous consoles.

585936770

Damn !!!! you beat me to it !!!!!!! That's exactly what I thought !!! If they had a controller that nearly resembles one of today's actual one's, why would they bother adding 4 extra controller ports, and 2 extra memory slots??? Specially since they are so fixated on making the Rev as tiny as possible.

vr headset anyone? :ninja:

585936788

LOL !!!!! Boy, are you fixated with the VR thing !

i guess.. my overall opinion is still nutral.. i am disapointed that they didn't show me what i wanted to see.

I ahve questions that I will have to think about before Revolution. Like should i keep my old systems or buy games for revolution. (somtimes old systems just got a better feel.)

Until then. I am content with my gamecube/PS2. They never let me down. Gamecube has a whole lot of good titles coming for it, that will make revolution seem sooner.

Can't wait for the Mario Soccer game!! :shifty:

That would be a bad move on Nintendos part, Virtualboy flopped because everything was so damn red and it made people sick, not to mention normal VR makes people sick. It would cost a bomb to make a VR headset as the main part of console.

It might not be a VR headset in the way you people are thinking about it.

It would involve the hands and head (no comments please) perhaps a motion detecting module headset allowing the player to control thje view and perspective of the character using the natural movement of the the human head. As for what the hands would be doing I have no idea.

If its not VR in the traditional sense then its not actually VR, just something daft strapped onto the head. I dont see it being popular at all, i for one wouldnt want to be sat/stood in front of my telly wiggling my head about like a prat.

You wouldn't be "wiggling" your head like a brat, I said "natural movement" not "OMG HAHAHA!!! LOOK MOMMY *HEADROTATES360DEGREES*" as in, the most likely small headset would follow the movement of your head and neck using gyroscopic or motion detectors, a.k.a turn your head left the chracter does the same. Although turning your head like that wouldn't alloow you to keep your eye on the television. :p

Fair enough i went a bit ott, but its not a very practical controller, i think its great that Nintendo is trying to innovate but they dont have what it takes.

ok so let me get this straight, if anyone says anything remotley negative about the big N they are either a "puppet" or a sony ms fanboy? please dont make me laugh, how is your labeling and pointing that out any worse than you being a nintendo fanboy? On top of that everyone is entitled to their own opinions.

Maybe there is another reason there are more than 360 posts in this thread, maybe were all concerned that nintendo showed next to nothing! Maybe the sony and ms threads are smaller because not half the people there are posting again and again about speculation and dissapointment. Dont get me wrong, i love nintendo, but that doesnt mean im not going to criticisize them! They are far from a perfect company.

    • Ocenaudio 3.19.3 by Razvan Serea Ocenaudio is a full featured, fast and easy to use audio and music editor. It is the ideal software for people who need to edit and analyze audio files without complications. Ocenaudio also has powerful features that will please more advanced users. To assist ocenaudio development, a powerful toolset of audio editing, analysis and manipulation called Ocen Framework was created. ocenaudio is also based on Qt framework, a well known library for cross-platform development. Cross-platform support ocenaudio is available for all major operating systems: Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. Native applications are generated for each platform from a common source, in order to achieve excelent performance and seamless integration with the operating system. All versions of ocenaudio have a uniform set of features and the same graphical interface, so the skills you learn in one platform can be used in the others. VST plugins support Ocenaudio supports VST (Virtual Studio Technology) plugins, giving its users access to numerous effects. Like the native effects, VST effects can use real-time preview to aide configuration. Real-time preview of effects Applying effects such as EQ, gain and filtering is an important part of audio editing. However, it is very tricky to get the desired result by adjusting the controls configuration alone: you must listen the processed audio. To ease the configuration of audio effects, ocenaudio has a real time preview feature: you hear the processed signal while adjusting the controls. The effect configuration window also includes a miniature view of the selected audio signal. You can navigate on this miniature view in the same way as you do on the main interface, selecting parts that interest you and listening to the effect result in real time. Multiselection for delicate editions To speed up complex audio files editing, ocenaudio includes multi-selection. With this amazing tool, you can simultaneously select different portions of an audio file and listen, edit or even apply an effect to them. For example, if you want to normalize only the excerpts of an interview where the interviewee is talking, just select them and apply the effect. Eficient edition of large files With ocenaudio, there is no limit to the length or the quantity of the audio files you can edit. Using an advanced memory management system, the application keeps your files open without wasting any of your computer's memory. Even in files several hours long, common editing operations such as copy, cut or paste happen almost instantly. Fully featured spectrogram Besides offering an incredible waveform view of your audio files, ocenaudio has a powerful and complete spectrogram view. In this view, you can analyze the spectral content of your audio signal with maximum clarity. Advanced users will be surprised to find that the spectrogram settings are applied in real time. The display is updated immediately when altering features such as the number of frequency bands, window type and size and dynamic range of the display.
