This thread is old an a lot has changed for 2006. Does anyone think that this poll should start again as "Your favourite Antivirus 2006" like the AMD/Intel polls?

I use Nod32, but I'm thinking on changing, recently the heuristics have been way off and ridiculous.

It thinks some game trainers are virus  I know I can disable the heuristics but why is the issue happening now.. lol..

Have to say this latest version of Avast Home Edition is mighty impressive.

You can choose which modules you want to run very easily and scale them down to specific targets, like the P2P Sheild where you can nominate only the P2P programs you use.

The Web Sheild scans almost everything on a per-site basis and does it without slowing down page-loading.

The Network Sheild is incredible, recently I had a Trojan infestation and the only alerts of realtime intrusions were from Avast.

Avast freebie version. Only have the simplist install, no p2p or webclient or IM client scanners.

It doesn't hassle me and updates on it's own. Just sits there looking bored most of the time :D

Common sense + a security gard to keep idiots away from your PC.

I do run avg, but i havnt seen it popup in a very long time. Its there Just in case.

I do prefer NOD32 but i amnt paying for soemthing to sit doing not very much. If i was careless then i'd pay for that

Vba32 for me. It keeps out of the way, automatically updates every hour, good detection, and, if you don't want to pay, you can sign up to be a beta tester.
