Rob2687
3ddesktop is pretty cool but it takes up like 60mb of ram. :x
markwolfe Veteran Posted June 12, 2005 Author Veteran Share Posted June 12, 2005 ^^^ Yeah, I like it too just for the visual effects, but if it has been activated, it kills my other 3D apps like Celestia and UT2004. So I kill 3ddesktop if I want to do any of those.

thechitowncubs
SimNet: Here it is, 1. Go find some themes. (www.gnome-look.org, art.gnome.org) 2. To apply them, you have 2 options. 3a. Install it manually by extracting the contents of the tar.gz to your home directory's themes folder (~/.themes/) 3b. Drag the archive file from nautilus to your theme dialog (in ubuntu it is located in System>Preferences>Theme) or click install theme on the theme dialog and then selecting the archive. 4. Apply the theme. Note: some themes such as Clearlooks 0.6 require compiling which utilizes the gtk-dev package. Hope this helps.

I also made a GDM theme based on it, but I won't release that unless I get permission from the artist.
