It's identical hardware, different firmware

I'm actually looking to flash mine with the W800 firmware, simply  because the media application is so superior. God knows how to do it though, I'll have to look into it.

Dazzla , you can do it yourself, check out DaVinci

Edit: After checking the site, I think they've pulled the w800i firmware, could have sworn they had it there the other week. But, you can do it yourself here FoneFunShop

If you havn't unplugged it already, Just be sure to charge it for 24hrs the first time and don't charge it until the battery is COMPLETELY dead for the first 2-4 charges(Longer battery time) - so I've read.

PS: http://jelly.joshbarber.co.uk/k750i.php

Although I havn't asked Dazzla via pm or anything(i forgot) this will be my asking now.

Dazzla: If you want me to remove the pictures tell me so and I'll take some of my own

EDIT:

funkystars, You're receiving slow transfer speeds beacuse you're trasfering it to the MOBILE PHONE not the actual card. I've got USB 1.1 so yours will probably be even faster if its to the card. Heres how to transfer it to the card:

1) connect the phone and usb

2) make sure the card is connected to the phone

3) once its connected goto My Computer and select removeable disk(mine shows as F:)

4) find the folder 'MSSEMC' open it up, then 'Media files' then go into 'audio' now, when I got my phone there was 2 folders 'ringtones' and 'videodj'. I made a folder for my MP3 called 'MP3'.

5) find your MP3/ALBUM you want to transfer, and copy it to your clipboard. Then in the 'MP3' folder you made paste it.

6) It should take like 10seconds max(per song).

IMPORTANT: DISCONNECT THE USB LEAD - Otherwise when u goto Media Album the MP3 folder wont show up. NO media transfered will show up on the phone while the USB lead is still connected.

Playing the MP3:

Goto Media album>Sounds>MP3>Play.

:) Enjoy.

No problem :D

Would you recommend this or the W800?

I have an MP3 player but when in college i rarely listen to more than 1 album, so would this be a good investment over the K750i?

So far, From what I've gathered off this thread, The only difference in the W800 is the multimedia card that comes with it(512mb with W800 and 32mb with k750i) and a 'flight' mode profile or something? I'd probably go for the k750i if I were you, and buy a card if you can't fit an album on it.

I'd prefer the W800i myself, and yes the only difference is the firmware, but if you love music like myself then you'd go for the W800i, the function of the media player in the W800i is just amazing!! The sound quality is much much better and more enjoyable.

But if you prefer to have the looks of the K750i, but want the functions of the W800i, just get it flashed, i'd wait for the red firmware of the W800i to be released before flashing though, theres been many problems with the firmware thats been going round, so watch out.

any chance i could get that wallpaper/theme from you dazzla? (this one)

and besides from the better camera and the memory stick slot is there much of a difference between this and the k750i?

And this is a K750i, did you mean is it any different to a K700i?

thanks dazzla, and yeah i ment k700i, because it's about half the price, and i don't care about the music player and the better camera (which is pretty amazing from what i've seen) i'd probably not use since i never use the camera on any of my phones now though

i've been using nokia cellphones for the longest time..and for the longest time swore by 'em...

but i truly believe the k750i is the phone that could finally turn things around for a lot of people..

the phone is solid and i have no major complaints about it...it has everything i need and want..and the

perfect size...not too big, not to small...sony ericsson hit the mark with this one

Hey mate great review, I have this phone and love it although I do have one problem with it. I hope im not being stupid but I can't find a way of making it take videos that are longer than 9 seconds in duration. Is it me or can you increase the video length, - if this requires a firmware update in order to do so then please tell me as I really need to sort this out!

Thanks mate.

    • That's not clickbait. Clickbait is headlines like, "You'll never guess what this person looks like now" for example. For goodness sake, take a look around the internet if you think this is clickbait. How do sites survive if people don't click through to articles? How many people in all honesty would have clicked this if it had your suggested headline? You and those upvoting your post won't be happy until the web is a couple of hundred websites all behind a paywall.

    • Or use Epic games and get full games for free. lol Steam and their demos. Thankfully there’s competition
    • Maybe I missed it, but does this say anywhere that the game save bug has been squashed? I haven't encountered it myself, but it would be nice to know I'm good to go. Anyway, amazingly well done game. Mostly more of the same. ...but when the same is best in class with improved graphics and features, then a win.
    • Well when your game flops, you should expect this. If I do bad at work, I would expect a layoff. Less than 1600 people played it on steam. https://steamdb.info/app/1934570/charts/
