Neowin Signature

Question

Hey,

Had some free time so I decided to make a neowin signature for all members to use! I reccon subscribers have their own one so why not let members have one too . I've supplied the psd so you can add your name or modify it. You will need an image editing programme like photoshop to edit them. Please contact me if you need me to do it :)

Here's how the signature looks:

Here's the psd:

Enjoy!

EDIT: I made a smaller scaled one ;)

The sig looks very nice. (Y)

Although I see some users aren't using transparency. :x

I really recommend the transparency.  It looks awful without it.

wanted to know... you do you set the transparency thing?

or better said, how do you use it?

^^^ If he is not familiar with the transparency in .png vs. .jpg, then I doubt that he will want to shell out the money for Photoshop.

Other options are to use the MS Photo Editor that is included with MS Office (if it still is, I don't know), or to use GIMP for Windows.

EDIT: Here is a quick erase of the white background. It would be cleaner off of your original image.

EDIT2: And one in .gif format, in case you only have IE (which doesn't yet fully support transparent .pngs)

Why would anyone save in .jpg? It sucks ballz and loses ALOT of quality. .png with alpha transparency/.gif with transparency is the way to go tbh.

Anyways, nice one Von_Beard. Maby yall should do one that goes with every skin? Eh good idea anything think?

When I tried to save it as a png a dialog box came up that said to choose from :

1) None

2) Interlace

I tried both of them ...but the transparency didn't come ...

I tried also to save a jpeg instead from the PSD.

I saved them from photoshop. Can someone explain it in detail please?

Thanks

:D did you remember to remove the white background!?

more seriously: did you remember to remove the white background?

just kidding, if you are using internet explorer, png trnasparency is not supported with it (read: "use firefox") or use a gif (looses quality)

Well, all of the posted sigs you provided appear within guidelines on size ...

Though the first one does look a bit too big for my eyes :pinch:

Nice job! (Y) I'll definitely substitute this for a subscriber signature (before I subscribe, that is.)

Thanks!

'File > Save for Web' in photoshop and select .PNG and all the other transparency options. You should know this Mr. "Groovy Designer" :p
