Hi.

Two things.

Is there any ETA as to when the Torrent for XP July will be operational.

Is there any possibility of future releases being updates rather than full/lite because I have begun integrating 2K/XP into a single installer - with customised modules - defaults only to critical and updates rather than tweaks/add-ons.

Thanks.

Do you think it's professional to use "MAJOR F***UP" in a release like AutoPatcher?  It's not like this is a small project anymore, its use is widespread.

No, sorry, it's not. My intension was to add a little humour to it. I'll change it to something more serious I guess.

Actually that part is the case with new releases. New policy, because people seem to go on with default selections without checking if they really need some tweak/addon.

yeah, sorry for the delay in torrents, I'll try and get them up on the site sometime ths afternoon/evening (GMT)

^^

As you can see, you aren't using an English Windows, but Swedish... And there isn't a Swedish version of AutoPatcher...

^ They only seem to have the June version. Download the July and see if the MD5 hash is the same as the hash in the 1st post.

Thank you, I guess it was kind of obvious but someone said in a earlier post that it "could" be done. Guess not. Now I only have to wait for some genius to do a language pack in Swedish

Keep up the good work :)

Hi, I tried to run the AutoPatcher_XP_Jul2005_Full on my Win XP SP1 Swedish version with the /english flag also. I also tried the lite, and to dl the full from another mirror and it didn't work

I get error 35601 element not found and he get's stuck on themes. I took a screen of it but my ISPs FTP is down atm

Any suggestions?post-118461-1121415099.jpg

Ah, I see you can add files

Started out just like you. I decided to make the Norwegian release. Took me about one week to make it from scratch. All you need to do is download all the hotfixes and programs that's made for swedish XP, and translate some files. The AP-clan gladly helps out. They did a great job helping me! :)

@ tkam: don't forget, this month we don't have a major server (Homer's)... But yes, it must be a big load to your server.. Thanks again for the help. ;)

@ JRosenfeld: Try with Firefox! :p

Looks like I have about 3500 Full and 1000 Lite downloads off my server today (it was kinda choked at first because of a dumb apache install).

Any idea why i get a different MD5 hash from the "Mirror provided by tkam" for the lite version? I get:

# MD5 checksums generated by MD5summer (http://www.md5summer.org)

# Generated 16/07/2005 12:31:04

b894f355881fbc03333a6dc636b075a4 *AutoPatcher_XP_Jul2005_Lite.exe

The first page of this thread says it should be:

English July 2005 Lite MD5 Hash: 7F870612B95B6B575E06AA59C1F204A3

(The installer seems to verify itself ok when run and the file size is correct: 76,618,712 bytes)

Things missing

a. Hacked files

Since I had to work on this release by myself, I decided not to include any hacked files. This means you will not find any uxtheme or tcpip fix. Of course, modules can be done for those later.

Excellent choice to go with all-official (non-hacked) files!!!!!!!! Easier for us to patch files as needed rather than trying to undo hacks

Maybe you could include this little program as a module: http://mitglied.lycos.de/lvllord/download-mirror.htm

Chances are you already know about it but hey :)

Their server has crashed so they're on a temp mirror but normally it's at http://www.lvllord.de. The 2.23d patcher works great for my XP SP2 system. When their site is back up you'll be able to go to the forums (which are pretty good) if you have any questions....

    • Well I've done a grand total of nothing, and it now clocks between 2010mhz and 1995mhz (stock is 1710mhz) and hovers around 80c, warmer than it used to, but tolerable clocks seem to have returned. Thanks for all the advice on this thread. Will review the evidence and make a choice.

    • I really wonder if this has to do with the built in VPN or "private DNS" of browsers that trip up legal requirements like cookie consent and Cloudflare (to avoid all the botnet attacks we get). And BTW some botnets still manage to get past Cloudflare, we are constantly having to tweak it to block malicious traffic that ultimately cause a DDoS.
