Once in a great while, a community is born and artists crawl over harsh words and criticism to become better at what they aspire to be.  Unfortunately, some artists hard work is sometimes danced upon by people that could care less about others feelings or anything else for that matter.  I have watched time and time again as folks have posted good work and have ended up being the subject of pointless trolling and flame.  From what I can see of the last few pages of this thread, Winswy has become subject to folks that have for the most part never liked his work.  While this is fine and dandy to all the passing onlookers, I can only spot that once again, this community has a few people in it that have long since needed an attitude adjustment.  I'm not going to waste my time quoting posts and all that BS...rather, for the folks that have a problem with how their original posts were responded to...really there is no need for ripping someone else down because they are getting positive attention.  And, the last time I checked mods were not to allow trolling in a thread to the point that...obviously the point was already gotten however ill conceived it was in the first place correct?  But, oh hell...if good artists like this can be subdued by ignorance, then such is the sad place this community has become.

Nicely said... Anyway, Winswy.. keep up the good work. As long as you are satisfied with your own style, then that's all that really matters. As some have already pointed out, there have been many Luna, Vista, and OSX mods, but no one seems to think that they are "rip offs". But in no means that I think that this is a copy of XPMC. Vxp is quite original. So cheers and perfect this VS, so once it's finally out.. you can show how much hard work you've put in this.

Who cares if anyone else is criticising your work in an unpleasant way that does not help you to improve? Just ignore them. As long as you are comfortable with your own work, and you like it, continue to work on it. If others like it and use it or help you to improve it, then its a bonus.

I wouldn't like to see another kind-hearted members receiving flames from others again.

Who cares if it's similar, not similar, etc to other styles. It's a very nice style, easy on the eyes, looks cool, all that matters ;) And yes, I will be making a Trillian 3.1 skin to match it once it's released;) hehe

Thats super news ! I also have it on good authority that a Winamp skin will also be in the works very soon, so its shaping up to be a suite of VXP goodness !

Thanks for everyones kind words, hope too get this out to you all very soon.

Ok, I've got it applied right now, here's what I think. *rubs hands together*

I'm loving the taskbar buttons, they're pretty slick, no obvious details, just some subtle effects that look really nice. The taskbar could stand to lose a few pixels in height though. Wasted space in my opinion. A pixel off the top, and one from the bottom could make a really good difference.

Mouseovers, comboboxes etc are pretty nice, and other little details noone really pays attention to.

The window captions are really nice, if a bit thick, I really dont know if I like the caption buttons and tabs though. You're going for smooth and slick, and they look like something I'd pull outta my toybox. Sometimes it's little **** like that that can ruin a VS for lots of people. You know the customization junkies, theyre picky as hell.

I'm not sure what else I want to pick on, most of it is pretty decent, with some rough spots where it's obvious you ran out of ideas (ie caption buttons) if you want this style to be big, you might want to consider atleast a substyle thats slimmer (taskbar, titlebars) that'd have the taskbar basically tan (take out the green systray, and inactive taskbar buttons) and only have hovers and active taskbar buttons imagefied (im making **** up, but you know what i mean)

The more substyles, the better.

Need a winamp skin?

Just wanted to let everyone know, that Matt0 has generously offered to do a winamp skin for the theme and I have decided to let him have a go a making a compact version of the theme including Start menu, taskbar and caption bars, he also may add a few different elements to the skin that may be to the liking of the more minimal Neowinians. This way i can concentrate on making the full sized version the best it can be within my own design capabilities.

So along with the Winamp and Trillian skins this should be a great community release.

Iconset?... anyone? :D

Thx again to everyone that has been supportive of our efforts.

I hope you plan to work on the part in the windows on the left, or the task pane. where there is "system tasks", "other placeS", and "details". I hate that style...looking like the classic one. Other's its pretty cute and nice, but could you brighten the brown-grey parts all over? as in, the "3d objects" under advanced appearance.

As far as the Shellstyle, the part of the windows you are referring to, it has not been started yet, but yes it will be skinned, the main color of the theme however, the beige will not be altered as this is one of the first basic design decisions made when starting a new vs.

well, i think the colors look a little out of place on IE 7 beta 1, but apart from that, im loving the theme...one thing i do ask for though is (if possible) the switching of the colors of the Start button

maybe two styles, one opposite the other.... i would kind of like the inactive color to be the pressed color

pretty damn original i must say, even if im not the almighty 'lord' of making themes *bant*..... as i always say, this guys attention to detail is what makes his premium AND free themse stand apart from others

    • RevPDF 4.5.0 by Razvan Serea RevPDF is a free, fully offline PDF editor for Windows, macOS, and Linux that lets you edit text and images directly inside PDF files — no internet connection, no account, and no cloud uploads required. Unlike bloated alternatives that demand subscriptions and constant connectivity, RevPDF fits in under 60MB on desktop while delivering a complete editing toolkit: annotate, redact, sign, compress, split, merge, convert, and reorganize pages, all processed locally on your device. Smart font matching ensures edited text blends seamlessly with the original, and multi-language support includes RTL scripts such as Arabic and Hebrew. Where most PDF editors force you to choose between features and simplicity, RevPDF manages both. You can build interactive forms from scratch with text fields, checkboxes, and dropdowns, permanently redact sensitive data before sharing, draw freehand on contracts and diagrams, and add custom watermarks — all without a single file leaving your machine. Edit Text and Images Directly Inside PDFs RevPDF supports true inline PDF editing — not just annotation layers on top of a document, but actual modification of existing text and images within the file. A smart font-matching engine identifies the font used in the original document and applies it automatically when you make edits, so changes blend naturally with the surrounding content. You can reposition elements, resize images, and update text across single pages or entire documents. RevPDF 4.5.0 release notes: This is one of the biggest updates to RevPDF yet. A lot of things people have been asking for are finally here. New Features Auto Redaction Permanently redact sensitive text and areas from your PDFs before sharing. Clean, irreversible, and fully offline. Comments, Links & Bookmarks Add comments for review, insert clickable links, and create bookmarks to jump around long documents without scrolling forever. Find & Replace Search across the whole document and replace text in one go. Long overdue. Split Pages Vertically or Horizontally Split any page down the middle, vertically or horizontally. Perfect for scanned books or double-page spreads. New Drawing Tools More tools for freehand drawing and markup, better for annotations, sketches, and detailed notes. Continuous Scrolling in Editor The editor now scrolls continuously through pages instead of jumping between them. Working through long documents is a lot smoother now. PDF Metadata Editor View and edit the metadata stored inside your PDFs, including title, author, subject, and keywords. Better Font Matching Text edits now blend in more naturally by doing a better job of matching the original font. Tabbed PDF Viewer Open multiple PDFs at once in tabs and switch between them without going back to the home screen. Add Links Insert hyperlinks anywhere in your PDF, to external URLs or to other pages within the document. Share & Print Shortcuts Share or print directly from the editing screen, home screen, and viewer. No extra steps. Minor Updates Paste images directly from clipboard into your PDF New image editing tools for more control over images inside documents Bug Fixes Fixed file saving issues on Windows and Linux Everything still works fully offline. No login, no cloud, no account. Your files stay on your device. • Interesting. I'm not using a VPN with my phone. I tried though my home internet (Rogers) and my cellular internet (Telus) using their respective DNS servers and both trigger the dialog above.
