@Limit-Studios: About the search feature, you can use Neowin search function :) The only thing the user needs is to be logged/or have the Remember Me box ticked (cookies enabled)

The url to perform the search is

https://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?forums=all&act=Search&CODE=01&keywords=%s

%s is the string to search for...

thanxs for the search added it into the build i'm working on now. With the option to search with Neowins built-in search or google.

DarkCode there was a problem with the fix i posted as kd5orw said it didn't work and made his address bar always blank. I've looked and tested it on 1.5 Beta 1 and it works fine for me.

Can you test this: This is a test version for 1.5 Beta 1 only. Download if you are OK if something goes wrong. You may have to copy the link to your address bar.

If this version is OK and works i'll add it to the first page. However in the next version i will be working using the new 1.5 extension documentation.

yup works fine iv tryed:

1) Typin an url

2) Using my quick links

3) Dragging a link into the bar

4) Using the buttons on the neowin toolbar

all work fine here....

I have no extensions installed except the firefox reporter thing....

Screenshot below shows the new compatibility with 1.5 BETA 1. I've redone the extension layout to the new 1.5 standards and at the moment its running good with none of the bugs with the address bar happening. I have also started to make it localized; the locale in the screenshot is es-ES provided by gigtec.

The build i'm using is the latest nightly.

Another update, search has now been added and is working fine in the build i am using on Firefox 1.5 Beta 1.

You can search both Neowin with its forum search or with google.

You can also search Neowin without using the menu by just clicking the Search button next to the search box.

There is still a few bugs with multiple entries getting added to the search history but i'm hoping to get that fixed asap so i can release the next version for testing.

    • What are you on about? Not all 'AI' is the same, and AI in security it's a serious tool (Unfortunately it's good for both defence and threat actors, so it's currently an arms race). Recently discovered a 27 year old bug in OpenBSDs TCP stack, and will continue to find CVEs at a rate that human researchers/developers will never be able to match. I'm not a fan of the 'creative' AIs which stop people actually being bothered to think for themselves, but when it comes for looking for pattens (e.g Cancer screening photos), or finding weaknesses in software it has serious benefits.
