k search toolbar is now gone and i am working on the neowin one. So 0.3.6 is scrapped and working on 0.4.0 which will have the localizations.

greg.douglas: are you still using DeerPark as i could do with a tester to test some of the new stuff every now and then with the inbetween builds.

All the translators will get the text to translate tonight so i can do the localization in the 0.4.0 builds.

Yes i would be happy to be a tester. I am using deerpark

there will be a small build at the weekend which will have some language functionaility but will mainly be used to just test the toolbar customisation.

Note: It will no be complete just a test release.

All people that said they will test will receive an email/pm with the download link when it becomes available.

I have a question for users using the toolbar.

Would you rather use google for the search box (i.e. searchterm site:www.neowin.net) as it will provide searches for less than 3 characters

or

Try to use the inbuilt forum search if it is possible with invision.

The problem I see with using the Invision method is that you have to be logged in at all times to be able to use the search. Doesnt' Invision kick you off after a certain amount of time? Plus, I don't know hot to do it with Invision since it uses search IDs. If you can decypher it, more power to you. (And PM/Gmail me how to do it ;) .)

The problem with Google is that it doesn't have instantaneous cashing. However, I have searched Google for the forums and I normally get around a day old cache.

So, I think the least of two evils is Google since you don't have to be logged in and it is more easily implemented.

Didn't know Invision used search IDs so i'll guess it will be google based search.

Also, could you make the search of the forums be actual Google?  Or, at lease provide the option for it?  (I'm not a big fan of A9.)

The search options (i.e. Yahoo!, MSN Search, A9) were removed from the new builds awhile ago as we wanted to get away from making it a search bar and making it into a dedicated Neowin toolbar only.

Good. I use Firefox's Quick Searches for searching. (Here is a how-to that I made if you don't know what they are.)

When is the beta coming out? A while back you said that you'd email it to me for testing. No hurry. I'm just curious.

P.S. I am loving the toolbar, by the way. I love the scrolling news and the NeoRequest button. Is there a way you could put a button, also, for Nfiles? I use it for all the images I post.

Thanks again.

The beta should be out quite soon as the next one will have the working search and possible translations. The new one has had quite alot of changes since the last one; i think the last count was around 20 changes which includes bug fixes, new features, etc...

if NFiles is like what NeoRequest is to Neowin i can add it to the toolbar.

NFiles is the official free Neowin file/image hosting for things that would not normally fit. The thread is located here if you would like more information.

Where do you find time to make 20 changes per release? (Of course, where do I find time to make stupid comments like these. I would say you put the time you find to better use. ;) )

Looks nice, Limit-Studios. Do you still have plans for a Mozilla Suite/SeaMonkey-compatible version of the toolbar?

added support for Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 and it should be going through the update system and is also available on the first page in this topic. It doesn't contain any new features; its just an update from 0.3.4 for Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 compatibility.

If there are any problems post here.

A browser that is made for you. Vivaldi is produced with love by a founding team of browser pioneers, including former CEO Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner, who co-founded and led Opera Software. Vivaldi’s interface is very customizable. Vivaldi combines simplicity and fashion to create a basic, highly customizable interface that provides everything a internet user could need. The browser allows users to customize the appearance of UI elements such as background color, overall theme, address bar and tab positioning, and start pages. Vivaldi features the ability to "stack" and "tile" tabs, annotate web pages, add notes to bookmarks and much more.
