The problem with the whole "metal" thing is that it is too set and too strict, that it is hard for anything to be "accepted" as metal by many people. people have different tastes, likes, and dislikes. please consider that the next time someone tries to shove their view of what metal is or the next time you try to shove your view of what metal is down someone's thoat.

Just like what you like and just be. dont step on other people to make your view known. there are different types of metal and so there are many places for these artists/bands to fit in and be categorized.

not as off topic as our friend electric demon, metal looking things are cool, i had a cdplayer that i sprayed black but then it started scratching off and it madfe it look better and i put a DEATH sticker on it, it looked cool.

yeh i like the sound of it and i like the sound of amon amarth, i listend to amon amarth versus the world and i tohught it was a great album but i dont like the whole viking concept, in amon amrth its easier to ignore the lyrics coz you cant hear it but in bathory you can hear it and i dont like how they talk about there silver shining swords and what not, but other than that i like the music

well, i agree..metalcore and hardcore spawned from the original metal...

Finally... The Gathering! :D My favourite band of all time...

The other bands I listen to: Mass Hysteria, Lofofora, SOAD, Dark Tranquillity, In Flames, Dimmu Borgir, Emperor, Deftones, Nightwish, Lacuna Coil, American Head Charge, Machine Head, Slayer, Pantera, The Haunted, At the Gates, A perfect Circle, Tool, Metallica, Anathema, Corrosion of Conformity, Thou shalt suffer, Immortal, Alice in Chains, RATM, Soundgarden, Audioslave, Sepultura (old ones before "Roots"), Mayhem... Don't know where to stop!

from what i've heard, the new chimaira OWNS.

can't wait for new soulfly and new children of bodom. made a post about it not too long ago.

yeh i know its a pretty good time of the year so many new albums coming out that i have intrest to, ive already picked up the devildriver album, not such a big fan but its not to bad. the songs are all kinda the same just heavy riffs that make your head explode which i like but its to much the same. as for fear factory, i always listen to there albums but i find there riffs to simple and most are just power cords, better then most crap anyway, i like demanafacture. everyones been telling me about soulfly but beleive it or not i havnt heard a single song by them yet il pick up there new album when it comes out. and im about to get chimaira, by legal means :shifty: . and children of bodm, cant ****ing wait

I argued that they are hard rock as opposed to rock or metal, in my view hard rock combines bits of rock and metal :/

586228244

yeh it could possibly, i find the vocals are heavier in hard rock, there louder and more screamish kinda, were as rock such as hendrix etc. were more lighter in there vocals kinda like they were talking melodicly and campared to metal the guitars nto quite heavy enough to be up there but its again a bit heavier then rock.

In your post you trash the bands we listen to yet you mention none that you listen to yourself. Metal has alot of sub-catagories ie. Death Metal, Thrash Metal and nearly all the bands mentioned in this topic fall into one or another category.

Not to mention your lame attempt at tagging CKY as a skater emo-band, do you even know what emo is? Have you even listened to CKY or heard the lyrics? None of their songs refer to what you would call emo (just assuming on your poor judgement of what Emo is).

I love people like you who trash bands you haven't even listened to just to make yourselves feel big. You once again associate CKY with Bam even though the band has nothing to do with Bam, he just uses a couple of their tracks as fillers for his videos. Bam does not play in the band. The band also has a good idea on what is actually happening to the music industry and their trying to change that.

Deron Miller from CKY is more metal than your poser ass will ever be. His involved in the DEATH tribute project (they suck because you don't know them), got personally asked to open for Metallica and Guns N Roses and is respected by people like Dave Mustaine. You'd understand if you've seen him play live. He can shred like a mother****er.

I doubt you have ever heard of Pestilence or Cynic either. I guess they suck then.

God you elitist tards **** me off.

El Hot Sauasage, go listen to Blink182 and the latest Limp Bizkit CD.

Thanks for the laugh.

In metal I find that the sound is really heavy and the singers rarely sing, they just scream and shout, with AC/DC this doesn't happen.

586228355

i think everyone can say they respect that, everyone has diffrent tastes, just coz someone likes something else dont mean we cant be friends :D

The problem is that people will post about a band and then someone will come on and say that "they are not metal". It is too wide a spectrum. Also, you would also have to have a Rap forum, Hip-Hop forum etc.

To those that said Quorthon 'has a good voice', that should be 'he "had" a good voice'.

Hendrix' style was hard blues, not rock.he once said 'It's not hard to play blues, but it's hard to feel it' Anyway, the genre is unimportant. What counts is the music itself.Don't draw borders 'round music and don't try to fit it into cathegories - it's art ... it's free.If you don't get what am trying to say ... you're either too young or too dump to understand.

mmmm, just got the new Demons and Wizards album, excellent stuff. Perfect blend of Blind Guardian and Iced Earth

I have to get it these days too.

The first time I've heard 'The Gunslingere' I knew this album is going to be as great as the first one, if not better.

The album's title is 'Touched By The Crimson King', for those who are interested.

Too bad that a new Blind Guardian album seems so far away. They'll release one next year probably :pinch:

    • The fact that memory in general is so high I have to take a loan out to build a computer now is just beyond stupid. Who's really to blame here? Low supply or high demand?
    • Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 18.1.5.5 by Razvan Serea Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) is a utility for completely removing AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL graphics drivers and related packages from your system, attempting to eliminate all leftovers (including registry entries, folders and files, driver store). Though AMD/NVIDIA/INTEL drivers can usually be removed via the Windows Control Panel, this uninstaller tool was created for situations where standard uninstall fails, or when you need to fully remove NVIDIA or ATI graphics card drivers. After using this driver cleaner, your system will behave as though it’s the first time you’re installing a new driver—similar to a fresh Windows installation. As with all such tools, we recommend creating a restore point beforehand, allowing you to undo changes if issues arise. If you're having trouble installing an older or newer driver, try it—there are reports that it resolves such problems. Recommended usage: The tool can be used in Normal mode but for absolute stability when using DDU, Safemode is always the best. Make a backup or a system restore (but it should normally be pretty safe). It is best to exclude the DDU folder completely from any security software to avoid issues. You do NOT need to uninstall the driver prior using DDU. Requirements: .NET Framework 4.8 Compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1, 10, and 11 (32-bit or 64-bit) Note: Using on Insider Preview builds is at your own risk. Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) 18.1.5.5 changelog: Added 'Reset to recommended' button for the Options. General fixes and improvements. WACUP 1.99.51.24568 Preview changelog: Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when doing some of the drag + drop actions within the media library window Fixed a loading crash seen related to a problem with some of the artwork cache image files being restored which should now be better handled allowing for the bad image to be removed without it failing Fixed a deadlock seen from the recent crash reports when the internal metadata cache clearing is triggered which could block the main ui thread for too long with this now being moved to a background thread Fixed some performance issues with some of the methods related to determining artwork support which mainly affected the local library import / refresh (this is still slower for some compared to other players because there's more data & artwork aspects being checked for which means doing more processing on a single file despite the best of attempts to reduce duplicate / heavy processing where possible) Fixed a crash with the JTFE based missing files hotkey which no one seems to have used for an age for this to appear (maybe it's time to seriously consider stripping out features that aren't being used) Fixed how some of the file types which use extra information to reference their sub-songs is handled which was preventing some from being correctly resolved back to their base file (noticed fixing above) Fixed an issue with the handling of files with underscores in their filepath which wasn't being correctly handled causing some of the filename to be lost when shown as the title if title reading is delayed Fixed a few things that might be behind NotSoDirect not being stable for some setups though am still not certain that the changes done for this are going to fully resolve the problem from the crash reports Fixed the OS toast handling when there's no prior shortcut in the OS start menu to now create the shortcut (needed to allow the yes/no buttons for the new build / post-release toast) to be done as a hidden one so it's less likely to cause annoyance for those not wanting to see it whilst still allowing this less than ideal OS api implementation requirement to be met to avoid toasts without the needed buttons Fixed a regression when moving from taglib1 to taglib2 which broke some of the handling in place to allow for external programs to still access files when wacup has a held open cached instance of the file Everything else Updated cppwinrt (gen_win10shell.dll) to 3.0.260520.1 (26 May 2026) Updated libcurl (libcurl.dll) to 8.2.1 (24 Jun 2026) Updated Monkey's Audio (in_ape.dll) to 13.15 (28 Jun 2026) Updated mpg123 (mpg123.dll) to 1.33.6 (6 Jun 2026) Updated OpenSSL (libcurl.dll) to 3.5.7 (9 Jun 2026) Updated pugixml to 1.16 (16 Jun 2026) Updated taglib (tag2.dll) to 2.3.0 (11 May 2026) Updated vgmstream (in_vgmstream.dll) to the latest Git commit from 28 Jun 2026 Download: WACUP 64-bit | 9.6 MB (Freeware) Download: WACUP 32-bit View: WACUP Website | Screenshots Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware
