:D i see Hypocrisy next week! and the black dahlia murder (sp?) tommorow :D what kinda songs does hypocrisy play stuff from catch 22 and virus i hope ...

They opened with Warpath and closed out with Let the Knife do the Talking from Virus. They mixed in a pretty decent blend of stuff from their previous albums in between, ranging from Impotent God from their first album to stuff from newer albums.

Why would you want stuff from Catch 22? That album was part of Hypocrisy's crap years.

Oh, and I won Metal Review's Green Carnation giveaway contest! Sweet!

Well it's a good chance their set list for your tour could be different, but probably not.

Silly UK folks, I have no idea what "pish" means. :D

Pish = **** + The Black Dahlia Murder thats one of them "deathcore" bands which are like emmmmmm .... crap? i mean i thought they would be good but they proved me wrong =/.

Edited by wing.

I think the Black Dahlia Murder is pretty cool. Who else would think of a song name called 'Statutory Rape'.

Have you ever listened to any brutal death metal or goregrind?

Dying Fetus - Kill Your Mother, Rape Your Dog

Cannibal Corpse - Stripped, Raped, and Strangled

Aborted - Gurgling Rotten Feces

And so forth. Of course, song titles don't make a band. The music is still very good. (Y)

Come to think of it, the song title "Statutory Rape" probably comes from their only female fans being 16-year old, Hot Topic wearing ___core girls crying about how much life sucks.

Yes, Omnium Gatherum is a good band. I haven't listened to them in a while, but you've put the idea back in my head. Perhaps when I get done listening to this new Psycroptic album I'll give them another go. That, however, might be a while.

Just saw In Flames, Trivium, Devildriver and Zao last night .... so so awesome... it was really impressive.

Zao = not good.

Devildriver put on an awesome show... they rock hard :punk:

Trivium is just incredible. one of my favorite bands. During their set they did a cover of some of Pantera's songs, namely Walk, to commemorate Dimebag since he was killed in Columbus. On top of all this, Mark, the lead singer of Chimaira, comes out on stage, randomly, to sing (scream) the Pantera songs w/ the band. Just so unexpected and so awesome :D

In Flames is the sh*t as usual. Awesome set, awesome show, not much else to say... speechless. Sold out show and the crowd loved it (Y)

I've been hearing a lot about Trivium and I finally gave them a chance. Rather unimpressed really. The vocals are absolute, utter **** in my opinion, so I won't even cover them beyond this.

They do have a few decent riffs here and there, but overall the guitarwork is incredibly uninspired. Nothing fresh, exciting, original etc...none of these words come to mind when I put on Ascendancy.

The rhythm section is incredibly boring as well. The only redeeming quality I can think of when it comes to percussion is some cool double bass here and there...but honestly, what modern metal band can't pull off some sparse double bass? No interesting fills, intricate beats, killer groove...none of it to be found here. The bass is far too low in the mix, though it might as well be, because it wasn't doing much either.

The only reason I can see someone being impressed by this band is having never heard a thrashy styled riff played over double bass. If you like that part, there are plenty of better bands that can do that (Dark Angel! Behemoth! Nile!).

/Me deletes ascendancy from hard drive.

Yeah i've never liked them to be honest. Yeah they have some good riffs but a band isnt all about if it can pull of the best riff.

2005 was the year when you heard none stop about how Trivium gonna be the next big thing

How wrong

its called an open mind ;)

Boo! Hiss!

I'm just kidding, but metal is all I really listen to aside from a very few exceptions.

I don't particularly care for Trivium either (too metalcore-ish for my tastes), but I will be seeing CoB next month. They're playing with Through the Eyes of the Dead (some metalcore band, sigh) and Chimaira, who has their moments.

Glancing at Metal Archives seems others share my opinion. :p

Interestingly enough I just checked that myself earlier. I've never seen ratings so low for albums with more than say five reviews, not even newer In Flames crap or Soilwork's Stabbing the Drama.

    • They aren't going to want to. Most would just go with the 17 Pro and save money. Why would they want to spend $300 for basically the same thing? It's not worth it if there are hardly any changes from year to year.
    • 24H2 rolled out to the Release Preview Channel in early June 2024, so this coming a bit later in the Experimental Channel (formerly Dev) doesn't really say much more than earlier H2 releases that came out in October. I am not sure what the thinking is here by putting it in Experimental, one would think that the 26H2 stamp means features are locked down and it's now bug tested until October? I don't even pretend to understand Microsoft's strategy for Windows Insider Program though
