Do you like the xp vs ?

Sure do. It's the main reason why I wanted XP back when it came out, but of course I really like the stability and how great it perfoms, but looks are important too.

After usin Win 95 and 98, a person can get pretty bored with that plain old look, lol.

WTF, if they went *back* to years Windows 2006 would sound old by the time the next windows release hits, I going to come out and say this, I think the next windows version after Vista/NT6 will be released in 2020 ^_^ lol

we'll you gotta see that the name takes awhile to settle in.

when i heard the new operating system is codenamed longhorn (i thought that would of been the final name) i was like, WTF? who wants a long horn as an operating system... it just sounds so lame.

now that i see windows vista, when i first heard about it, i thought the samething. now i like how they kept the logo the same, they should never change it, maybe use this one every now and then too

ms_longhornflag.gif

but im getting use to the name, it shouldn't me much longer till i love the name :D

I think it is an excellant name and fits what this OS has apparently turned into, a large empty space that looks pretty. Vista. Look it up. It is a calming name in hopes that people who get it will be mellowed by the name. This way they may not expect much and so won't be disappointed when they find it is pretty much nothing to get excited about.

Vista is OK...Im not particularky fond of it. Windows 2006 would have been nice, except it would have made the product older after a few years (if XP had been called Windows 2001 or something it would feel pretty aged by now). Windows 6 would have been perfect ;)

Vista sounds retarded and unsure kinda fagy actualy, Longhorn was way better, .NET also

but on the other hand i relly like the name Tiwi, it would make everyone want it :))

and do all win official styles have to look so damn ugly, i mean the only pretty style ive come across is panther of stylexp, and it would really be nice if they made it a default style

id also apretiate they included firefox since IE has too many bugs, desnt support modern semitransparecy, doesnt handle fav icons correctly, doesnt have tabs, ooo what a lamma browser...

i say all the way MS Windows Tiwi

Yeah, Firefox.

Anyway, IE7 is going to have every single one of the features you just mentioned.

sounds nice for ie7, colors on current ver look to bright or something, i mean why do things look way smoother on firefox, opera, netscape and all the rest

some system stability would be nice for new os, hehe i cant crash when autoupdating (and that didnt happen just once) and it goes autoupdating in heavy use of the box for exaple when playing gta, thats not right, it should wait for an idle moment

also home networking, hello are u nuts, the updated sp2 xp doesnt want to comunicate with not updated one, for example the nothebook connected to home machine, also when using multiple notebooks, and connecting through tcpip it messes up connecftion on host machine, so its like half hour fixin when that occurs, even so if i manage to repair it, also if accidently same number used on ip and if connect a cable u also get damaged host tcpip issues, bleehh, too many problems, i started liking usb through ext disk, at least that way my bro can manage to copy stuff

It's an ugly word--Vista--sharp, almost. That's why so many people don't like it. It's meaning fits the context, but it's not so much about the meaning as the initial reaction to the word. Conversely, Apple has naming down to a science. "Quartz." "Rendezvous" (they ended up having to rename that one to "Bonjour," which is admittedly terrible).

And it's been written that it was the developers that pooled names and chose the best. That says a lot of very bad things about how it goes at Microsoft.

    • On xiaomi hyperos there's also an option to disable google assistant. I've got everything disabled. Only thing I do have installed is a web wrapped for duck.ai which claims to let you use various AIs anonymously
    • I need to understand the rationale of not shipping all of these K2 improvements in a single update/release. It's giving "we will fix Windows 11 but no commitments". It seems to me that they just announce these improvements just to appease the community.
    • The term "RTM" is long gone starting with Windows 10. Every current release is a GA build. This is the result of MS making Windows as a Service (WaaS).
