What "source" would be adequate for you gamehack? Do you want a quote from Bill Gates saying what the OS is written in? Why not think for a second and extrapolate...

3 main languages out there, C, C++ and ASM... what else do you honestly expect an OS to be written in?

Christ almighty there are some stupid assed people in the world.

That doesn't prove your point, so I can equally assume it's not true since you have no proof that it is not true ;)

What ****ing point, my first time posting here idiot.

I was just saying get the code(if you can) and check for yourselves instead of asking.

that's the most retarded thing i've heard all week. the only "point" he has would be "proven" if you did what he said, and look at what the source for Win2000 is. think before you type!!

What do u mean u like the way i think? I heard at first microsoft saying Vista would be written in 100% .net atmosphere, but they have backed off that a bit in the last months, What will it be written in?

I've worked with parts of the source-code for Windows NT a couple of years ago (my employer was a close partner with Microsoft and had full access to the OS source code), and it was mostly in C. However, there are assembly and C++ code too. Heh, even batch (.bat/.cmd) files.

It doesn't really matter much what it is written in, since it is not public anyway --it is a black box and should be treated as such (really, you don't want to know the details inside, it is scary....).

The core will still be in c, c++, and assembly, however, certain system components have been said to be created using .net.
