I would like to sign up to download Vista Beta 1 to beta test it but I dont know where or how to get a Subscription ID as seen here

https://msdn.one.microsoft.com/Registration...ed.asp?Option=2

What process do I need to get done in order to beta test?

i think MSDN subscriptions are in the price range of $1400 american, dollars. So, if that fail you lose al that money, otherwise just wait, something will come around.

With a signature like that, you should be totally denied access to anything related to Vista... seriously... there is so much more underground coding that has gone on it is amazing. They have totally reworked the OS and have spent years doing it. I think it can only get better from here and I await the "perfect" OS which will be Vista.

I know its going to be good, I'm just saying how the 3 words are stupid.

how do you all afford such a subscription?  or is everyone here in IT and your company subscribes?  what about end-user joe schmoe like myself, how can we test something that we might buy in the future as well?

After having read all 43 pages of this thread I think it very much appropriate that I remind our very fortunate brethren and sisteren who get to download and install vista beta1 today not to forget about their less fortunate comrades (sound communist? :)) Well, afterall we're all by virtue of our membership in Neowin, communists - of the Neowinian Order. So please, share, share, share!!! Help your comrades, Neowin is a "Community" - meaning we support each other for the benefit of the whole community. This is not the time to be greedy, need I remind you that the NDA has been lifted as of 7/27/05? I'm throwing a challenge at you - the fortunate amongst us, surprise us - pleasantly. Anyone who agrees should say, AMEN!

PS: We're waiting, ANXIOUSLY. God bless all HACKERS and CRACKERS!

Summary

- Vista Beta 1 is out, currently only to those people who have MSDN access

- Screenshots of the final Beta build are still few and far between as people download the Win32 (~2.5 GB) and x64 (~1.7 GB) ISO dvd images from Microsoft. Most like Paul Thurott's are from pre-beta 1 or the 5203 screenshot leak. Microsoft posted a few on their presspass site

- Several Microsoft sites have gone live including:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsvista/default.mspx

http://msdn.microsoft.com/windowsvista

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/windowsvista/default.mspx

- A video talking about the beta has been posted on Channel9

- Connect beta users should have access sometime later today

    • The most consequential argument in technology right now is not about which model is smartest or which chip is fastest. It is about whether the entire enterprise is a generational revolution or the largest financial bubble ever inflated — and the unsettling answer, increasingly, is that it may be both at once.,,,, https://www.techtimes.com/articles/318138/20260610/ai-revolution-ai-bubble-trillion-dollar-question-splitting-wall-street-silicon-valley.htm This is a very good read.  For what it is worth, I agree with the answer to the question. • LibreWolf 151.0.4-1 by Razvan Serea LibreWolf is an independent “fork” of Firefox, with the primary goals of privacy security and user freedom. It is the community run successor to LibreFox. LibreWolf is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements. This is achieved through our privacy and security oriented settings and patches. LibreWolf also aims to remove all the telemetry, data collection and annoyances, as well as disabling anti-freedom features like DRM. LibreWolf features: Latest Firefox — LibreWolf is compiled directly from the latest build of Firefox Stable. You will have the the latest features, and security updates. Independent Build — LibreWolf uses a build independent of Firefox and has its own settings, profile folder and installation path. As a result, it can be installed alongside Firefox or any other browser. No phoning home — Embedded server links and other calling home functions are removed. In other words, minimal background connections by default. User settings updates Extensions firewall: limit internet access for extensions. Multi-platform (Windows/Linux/Mac/and soon Android) Community-Driven Dark theme (classic and advanced) LibreWolf privacy features: Delete cookies and website data on close. Include only privacy respecting search engines like DuckDuckGo and Searx. Include uBlockOrigin with custom default filter lists, and Tracking Protection in strict mode, to block trackers and ads. Strip tracking elements from URLs, both natively and through uBO. Enable dFPI, also known as Total Cookie Protection. Enable RFP which is part of the Tor Uplift project. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution, and its goal is to make users look the same and cover as many metrics as possible, in an effort to block fingerprinting techniques. Always display user language as en-US to websites, in order to protect the language used in the browser and in the OS. Disable WebGL, as it is a strong fingerprinting vector. Prevent access to the location services of the OS, and use Mozilla's location API instead of Google's API. Limit ICE candidates generation to a single interface when sharing video or audio during a videoconference. Force DNS and WebRTC inside the proxy, when one is being used. Trim cross-origin referrers, so that they don't include the full URI. Disable link prefetching and speculative connections. Disable disk cache and clear temporary files on close. Disable form autofill. Disable search and form history...and more. LibreWolf 151.0.4-1 changelog: Upstream release, see the Firefox 151.0.4 Release Notes Notable changes: DRM now uses a per-site permission, instead of allowing all requested sites access, when DRM is enabled. • Stopped using Windows as my main workflow. Migrated completed to Linux. Been happier than a clam without a single issue nor windows annoyance. Leaving Windows has shown me the light at the end of the tunnel, or rather I went through the tunnel and I'm already at the light.
    • AirPods Pro 3 are now available for only $179 by Taras Buria Apple's third-gen AirPods Pro 3 introduced a few important upgrades over the previous generation while retaining the old $249 price. Still, that is quite a lot of money for a pair of earbuds, but the good news is that right now, you can save quite a lot of money on them, thanks to a new all-time low price. AirPods Pro 3 retain their classic look and form factor, with changes focused on the inside. These earbuds now come with five sets of foam-silicone tips, which sit much more securely in your ear, making the earbuds a perfect choice for physical activities and workouts. Additionally, new tips provide better passive noise cancellation. Speaking of noise cancellation, ANC is now much better at blocking outside noise, with Apple claiming the AirPods Pro mute up to two times more sound than the AirPods Pro 2. The AirPods Pro 3 also have heart rate sensors for activity tracking during workouts. They also support Live Translation and Hearing Aid mode. As for battery life, you get up to 8 hours on a single charge, with the case adding 20 more. The case supports wireless (Qi or Apple Watch charger) and wired charging over USB Type-C (cable not included). • Everything I have read is that the BBC is still Pro Doctor Who but wants a solid plan before they let anyone else try to do it. Which is fair.
