I can't do screenshots... MSDN EULA forbids it and I plan on being a nice boy

Screw that, I'll post screenshots as soon as I get it finished installing.

Rock on Hurmoth. I have an empty 3GB partition. Does anyone think this is enough to test Vista on?

Quick question in MSDN which one would get me a copy of Vista, like the cheapest one?

Operating Systems subscription. And if you're a student, you can get the academic version of it too. ;) Whatever you do, don't buy directly from Microsoft (my opinion, go with Provantage.com), as they are very expensive.

That would be it  And for the price, look at what you're getting:

10 license for the following:

Windows 98 SE

Windows 2000

Windows XP

Windows Server 2003

Windows Longhorn (all milestones, plus the final release)

... and much more!

Is that the acamdemic version? Do MSDN subscribers get discounts on retail releases of Operating Systems?

Also, will there be a Windows Vista Media Center Edition?

586282143[/snapback]

No, that's the min you need for Vista access. Not sure about Media Center. As was stated, most of the media stuff will be coming in Beta 2.

Also, MS is starting to mess with connect.microsoft.com. The program name has been changed to just "Windows codename Longhorn" and the program dates have defaulted to June 1. Hopefully they are updating it.

how long does an MSDN subscription last?

One year.

But the software comes to you on DVD or CD (whichever you choose) and you can keep it along with the product keys ... as they never expire. You just don't get anymore updates unless you renew.

    • Got it. Seem like a good improvement. Thanks. But, before we "Add the source to Trusted Sites," how would know if it is trusted or not? Could get messy for not first Knowing" it is clean. See what I mean?

    • I just started using Teams (and “New” Oiutlook) at work (instead of Slack) and both are truly abysmal pieces of software.
