Hi and welcome to Neowin, We dont have this problem because we enabled anti-leeching of files on neowin.net here is a copy of the htaccess content:

save the above text to .htaccess and upload to the root of your public html directory

Our staff do not hotlink images from your site.

If you wish to protect the copywrite of your users I strongly recommend you disable the ability to hotlink from your site. Prevention starts at home mate.
