Do you tip pizza delivery people?

Recommended Posts

I've worked in pizza for almost four years now, where I live maybe one in twenty orders doesn't tip. Pizza guys LIVE on their tips, minimum wage doesn't pay the bills. they do more of a service than most waiters and waitresses do, in most pizza places one of many drivers will take your order, make your pizza, cook it, bag it and deliver it. plus, why wouldn't you tip someone that knows your address and your phone number?

haha....nice ending there buddy. Kinda freaked me out ;)

most of the time NEVER!!!!

sometimes I say don't worry about the change when it is like 5-10 cents

Am I a tight ass, NO!

It is Australian culture thing. We dont tend to tip for things like pizza. If you go to a restaurant, then you might tip if the service is really good.

ALWAYS

Sorry for screaming, but I feel strongly about tipping.

When I was really, really young, my dad, to make ends meet, delivered pizzas, and my mother worked the register at the same place. They would take me with them to work, and since I had ants in my pants, I would go with my dad on the deliveries alot. I would see the absolute and utter look of disappointment on his face when he would not get any tips, and I also saw just how hard he worked and how most people showed him not one bit of respect at all.

That stayed with me all the way to the present day and I am now 30 years old.

I dont care if they are late, whatever, I always tip at least 4 dollars, if not more.

Last time I got delivery the total was almost 30 dollars so I tipped them 8-something.

It was my way of apologizing for using all $1's to pay him :p poor fella, standing there in the freezing cold while it was counted out...One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight......

I would but my family almost always goes out an just gets it ourselves. I would feel bad with a $1-2 tip (I would give probably $4-5) but maybe the tip should be less than when you are dinning in. I guess I wouldn't feel so bad giving them a $1-2 tip, if I said to keep the change because maybe they wouldn't be smart enough to realize how much tip they made until they have left :shifty: .

Pizza, yeah prolly 2 bucks.. now in restraunts its different. If the waiter/ress is a idiot/mean (like last month the waitress gave me attitude when i asked for a refill on my iced tea, then got me soda instead, and i told her it was wrong, and she said i would have to wait a moment because she was busy.... i mean the place was near empty at 11am)

restraunts - if they do a good job 10%, if they excede, 15%, if the girls really cute 20%... if the are just meh (like my example or just bring the food, not much conversation) $0 to MAYBE a buck

IMO 15% is the minimum... i'll 20% if everything went smooth/food was good

That makes a lot of sense. The fella drives to your door and delivers you food, but you don't tip him, yet when you go into a restaraunt, you may tip the server? That makes no sense.

Nope. I don't get it delivered, cuz its like 5.00 for a large 1 topping pizza if I go around the corner and get it myself! :D

If they bring it to me, it takes an hour to get it and I have to tip because I feel guilty!

pizza delivery stinks. I used to do it as a teen. All it ever did was ruin my car by putting extra miles on it.

My owner was so cheap all he ever gave us was $0.40 per delivery. Sometimes i'd drive to a house that was 15miles away! :pinch:

at my store, about two weeks ago, we had someone call in to order 150 pizzas with about a two hour notice. This was about 1pm right after lunch so it was myself and one delivery driver. they wanted their pizzas by three o'clock, so I told them that I'd try my best to have everything there by three but next time they should give more of a notice when they want an order this large. Both of us broke our asses making that damned order, and we got the driver out the door at about 2:50. They called a few minutes later demanding to know where their order was, I told them that it was only 2:55pm and he would be there before 3pm. They bitched and moaned at me for another minute then got off. about 15 minutes later the driver showed back up at the store ****ed. It was a $1200 order, with a ton of discounts that I gave them and they didn't tip him a dime. Needless to say when they ordered again a few days ago, they didn't get very "clean" pizzas.

yes, i always tip to the higher $5

if pizza costs $21.78.. i give him $25

$14.67.. i'll give him $17 if i have singles, otherwise i'll say sorry i don't have any other change, i'll get you next time.. it'd be kinda wrong to hand then an extra $5 and ask for change so you can give them just $3.

if its a hot chick.. $10 tip always!.

    • @goretsky I will keep those in mind for the calls we get and update our technicians with the list, im sure the list will grow and I hope there is a larger public statement on this.  Here is the statement from Huntress https://www.huntress.com/blog/klue-breach-investigation
    • But we are talking about Elon Musk, no AT&T... I know big companies are evil, but Elon and his companies are in another level which is much more dangerous.
    • New PowerToys update fixes memory leaks and other issues by Taras Buria Another bug-fixing update is available for PowerToys version 0.100. After releasing version 0.100.1 with a bunch of bug fixes and patches, Microsoft pushed version 0.100.2 to address two important issues with one of Command Palette Dock's features. With PowerToys 0.100.2, Microsoft fixed the performance meter displaying incorrect values and memory leaks, which are particularly unwanted things in the current situation with overpriced PC hardware. Here is the changelog: Reverted a Performance Monitor dock refresh change that forced item refreshes on every metric update Fixed a memory leak in the Performance Monitor dock extension by reusing stable network upload/download band items instead of creating new list items on each refresh For those unfamiliar, Command Palette Dock is a relatively new addition to PowerToys. It is a taskbar-like tool that you can keep on top of the screen to pin various useful widgets, commands, and more. It can display time, weather, your PC's performance metrics, and more. Microsoft introduced the Command Palette Dock in March 2026 in PowerToys 0.98. Microsoft has dedicated documentation for Command Palette Dock, and you can check it out on the official Microsoft Learn website. You can update PowerToys to the latest version by going to Settings > General and clicking "Check for updates." Alternatively, you can download the installer from GitHub using this link. In other news, Microsoft is working on a new window-management utility for PowerToys. Called Alt Window Cycle, it will let you use the Alt + ` shortcut to switch between different windows in a single app. You can learn more about the tool here.
    • You did take leaf out of Trumps book already and had brexit - only to harm yourself. The same goes with this AI nonsense. The obvious solution for these companies is to move their head office to Brussels. I can see quite much irony there... 🙂
