The award was announced in the November 2001 issue of Maximum PC and the RADEON 8500 was also featured on the cover of that issue, which bore the headline ?Must-Have Hardware.? To qualify as a Kick Ass product, Will Smith, Technical Editor of Maximum PC, ran the RADEON 8500 through a variety of tests and benchmarks to ensure its performance was stellar -- even up against the most challenging games and applications.
