Death Stranding 2

i surprisingly like it a lot, wonder if I should have gave a first one a go, but apparently this sequel is less boring then the original.

Should definitely play the first game first. Lol

I watched the in game summaries

and then YouTube videos of story summaries

so I think the idea to actually play only the second one is good.

Atleast you have an idea of the story then.

I loved the first game, if the second game is similar to the first then you should build out ALL the road networks as soon as possible, make it a priority it'll make moving around so much easier and quicker.

I don't buy expensive games so it'll be a while before I get to play it but I don't mind waiting if it saves me £50.

If you're enjoying DS2 I really think you should stop and do the first one (or at least give it a try first) - It's hard work at the beginning but worth it!

Mafia - old country

damn the 2 hours are absolutely crazy how slow they (but I knew it from reviews) and control are janky (not just knife and guns but even pressing the action button to open door and pick up stuff sometime is very bad and you have to fiddle around way more then it should be necessary)

but the story get better after chapter 3 and it is the narrative adventure game style exactly how I like it. I am here for the story after and not so much for gameplay (or much challenge) much

so it’s only highly recommended if you don’t mind what I said

God of Way Ragnarok on PS5 Pro.

Fantastic experience for me! Even on reg ps5. Took me a while to get into GoW reboot as I loved the original trilogy style. But by the time Ragnarok came I was all for it!

I've actually been playing Hollow Knight on my Steam Deck.  I've had it a while, picked it up once years ago but never really got into it.  However, after recently playing thru Metroid Dread, I kinda got a better feel for how these 2-D Metroidvania games are supposed to work so I decided to give it another crack and it's actually quite fun if you know how these type of games work, 🙂 Being able to play it at 90hz (handheld) or 120 hz(docked) also makes it feel really responsive.

Here's a clip of me "finally" beating one of the optional bosses (It took me a few tries, then I left and came back with a health and weapon upgrade).

I played it on my desktop PC and Steam Deck a while back and it was AMAZING.  Absolutely loved it.  The balance between action and storytelling in the God of War games is top notch stuff.

I've also been playing thru Dark Souls. I tried the game about a year ago, got to Fire Link, walked towards the sound of the bell I was told to ring, wandered into the graveyard skeletons, got rekt repeatedly, got mad and quit. Something similar happened with Demon Souls years and years ago. Outside of those two brief occasions my "Souls" game experience was zero.

But for some reason lately I had an urge to try again so I started a new game and this time I went the right direction and have found myself quite enjoying it. The only thing I regret so far is I summoned a player once just out of curiosity and they apparently just enjoy helping new players because they showed me several secrets and helped me defeat a boss (Dragon Slayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough), but they almost made the boss too easy so I kind of regret summoning them. Took the satisfaction you get from doing it on your own.

I've shared some screenshots if you'd like to check them out.

Dying light - the beast

3 hours in and it is very good. This is what I wanted to see from Dying Light 2 but even after trying it again after many many patches DL2 just sucks

this one immediately griped me and I started to enjoy since the beginning.

i am happy the developers came to their senses and gave people more of what they wanted - I am sure dl2 had fans too but it was not what created fan base for DL originally (I played Dl1 twice - on release and fully updated version recently and it beats dl2 on how interesting it is to play by a lot)

if you did not like dying light 2 - give a go to “the beast” - it is FUN again

37 hours in having fun in Dying light the beast

i know that they just went back to DL1 mechanics mostly and did not invent anything

don’t care - the game is fun as funl for me - I am doing all the side quests and activities and loving it

it is not usual for me to like zombie games and it definitely not usual for me to try to complete everything … but … here we are!

I would like to try silksong but considering I gave up on the original hollow knight after 4 hours and never played again….

not sure it is wise to actually buy it. Maybe in time when the price drops to next to nothing.

Metroidvania games where my thing when I was 13-14

super Metroid was was like my wet dream - perfect game. but I just don’t have the determination to keep up with the map and backtracking anymore now

I had a similar experience with Days Gone. Not a huge zombie game fan, the story sucks, and some of the mechanics are just flat-out stupid and irritating... objectively, the game really isn't that good. But I couldn't put the damn thing down! 100%'ed in ~70 hours and had a blast with the hordes. So much fun.

Edit: Also not a huge 100%-er, meant to mention that as well.

HAHA - yeah, i played the original Days Gone and never finished, and now, after The Beast, I actually bought the PS5 updated D.G. and am playing it now as well. They are quite similar to be honest.

I tried Dead Island 2 because i had it for free, but it was not the same, going back to updated Days Gone was perfect.  This time I will beat it I think!

If/when you finish it, and if you remember, come back here and let me know what you think :) I love crapping on the writing so much, and the ending is seriously terrible. I hope you find it as pleasantly ridiculous as I did.

Just pulled the trigger on Arc Raiders

I don't usually like multiplayer games and especially not extraction shooters but I've watched a TON of videos and they all seem to be having a pretty good time.

Plus the devs seem to have taken solo players into consideration so why not...

What are your thoughts?  I would play only solo and have heard that it’s a bit honey moon right now but eventually the duos and trios will move into solo play and just be sweat. So have been a bit hesitant to buy feeling I’ll end up annoyed by pvp.

Finally got platinum on God of War Ragnarok now trying to see if I can finally get into Returnal be because I feel like Im getting know where with the game resetting every time I die!!! And then just I just move to another game, but this game is raved about so I must be missing something and it needs to just click.

I'm now 12 hours in and loving it!
In that total time I think I've only been killed by another player maybe four times.
Most of the single player community seem pretty great - I suspect this could change as the game gets more popular but so far I can only recommend it.
I also play only solo - Multiplayer games have never really interested me but they have got the balance spot on with this so far. plus they are doing a good job or listening to players and have a several year plan for new things they can add. Every other extraction game I have tried has been immediately frustrating and I always give up with them but I think this one may have legs...
Plus I only paid £22 on loaded.com

    • The consumer ESU is ending in 4 months. LTSC isn't now, never has been, and never will be for consumer use, it is for OT usage - plant machinery, medical devices, manufacturing equipment etc. LTSC requires a Microsoft EA. You can't legally obtain LTSC to run on your PC at home.
    • Hmm actually looks decently interesting!
    • Being on GitHub doesn't make something safe. Like any unofficial scripts to do x or y this caters to people with just enough knowledge to be dangerous. If you want to do what this does, and you actually know what you're doing then write your own script (or maybe just add the reg keys yourself) if you don't have the ability to read and understand what a script is doing, and especially don't run it with elevated privileges. Or in this case just use an MSA, sign up the normal route, and stop trying to push water up hill
