Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 out

Recommended Posts

If you guys have just recently downloaded Firefox 1.5 beta 1, use a branch or trunk nightly build and you hate the way the new menus look...this extension is for you. Thanks to a bunch of folks over on mozillazine.org forums, we have put together this extension to bring back the classic menus, this is especially nice for all the Windows 2000 and below users and users of XP non-luna themes.

Download link

if the link isn't working copy and paste the link into the browser and hit enter. For some reason the link isn't triggering the install notification for me.

ahhhh good good! :D

Thanks!

just copy the profiles directory under your account folder\Application Settings\Mozilla, it contains everything.

Also, anyone using this new build, can you try file:///G:/Web/TidyUI/supposed_firefox_exploit.xhtml

apparently it will crash Firefox 1.0.6 on windows and linux, and 1.5 Beta 1, but everybody i have gotten to try it, it doesnt crash it.

just interested.

Can someone tell me what's that extension which lets you backup your profile?

Thanks

Daniel

I use THIS ONE.

I am using the Test Build 4 right now. Once you install it, go to the options and set it to back up the files you want.

This is a local file ... we can't access it.

Yeah, copied and pasted the link without realising i was viewing the local version.

here is the link i meant to paste, http://www.the-decryptor.net/dump/supposed...x_exploit.xhtml

A couple days ago, testing the nightly builds (which I've been doing for a while now), I started getting random crashes of the browser on Linux, and it's still happening with the final beta 1 release. Closing tabs sometimes causes it to crash as well. Damn. Not even a new profile prevents it.

doesnt crash for me and im using the 1.5 beta. it just redirects me to a google search for '---------------------------------------------'

Would like to say that over at TEM they are starting to update extensions. So be patient use the workarounds or just wait a little while (before installing this beta) and most extensions should be updated soon. Just keeping you posted.

This is posted elsewhere in the Mozilla (Gecko) forums, Just wanted to post it here too, so all would know.

I am back to 1.0.6 :(

All the extentions and the walnut theme dint work. When I tried that nightly testers extension.. FX acted strange.. no BAR (the top one and the windows bottom one) was there, ie it opened in full screen and dint work also. :o Now I am back to 1.0.6 :( :(

    • I used to use Google assistant, not on the phone i have now, but about 7 years ago, then I decided it did not really do anything for me. Because i had Echo units over the house I added Alexa to the phone to control stuff and that is how it is now. Not the new Alexa+, as that is not really available in the U.K yet apart from on new units and to be honest, not interested in it. I went though the stage years ago of using voice to do text and call people, quicker to do it using my hands. I had a muck about with Siri on my Mac when I first got it, but not having a microphone permanently plugged in makes it a pain. I know it can be used by text. Siri like Apple AI is disabled on my Mac and will stay disabled.
    • I have a TV, but it is not used for normal linear TV, only streaming and it is not a Samsung and the best bit is, I don;'t and never have had a Instagram account. The only thing I have to do with Meta is Faceache and I only keep that just for the messaging part.
    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
