trek
Very pretty. I like the translucency of the taskbar, and the new font :) also, the file is protected with WGA, so I dont think a direct link would be a very good idea...

ad345zAdZ0d9_
pshhhhh. I want more than eye candy. I want a usable operating system with modern technologies. You will have to do a lot to get me away from mac os x microsoft!
coolchan
It's not all about eye candy. It's about accessiblity. So the user interface is more intuitive and easier to use.

MonkeyClaw Veteran Posted September 11, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 11, 2005 well the eye candy is very nice and i admit its pretty but its still windows, its still basically the same as 95 in the way it works which means its counter productive. they can make the os holographic for all i care but until an enitre rewrite of the os is done, until they make it so that i get more work done than hastle, then i might. ill say again, its a very pretty looking os but its still basically unchanged in its operation since 95, 98, 2000, xp. strekship
Dude, XP is compleatly different than 95. It on a different kernal.
MonkeyClaw Veteran Posted September 11, 2005 Veteran Share Posted September 11, 2005 i know that what i meant is in the way it works. the basic way the os operates in terms of what the user sees is basically the same through out the line.

It's all good having these features, but if the way you access them is faulty, then it's of no use. Windows is still windows and it's all similar.. they should completely redesign it. I use windows, but when I use OS X at college (I do very often), it makes me smile randomly. All the eye candy (and there is enough for a lifetime) adds up to make the whole experience worthwhile. Seeing as there are 2 different types of people - language/arts and mathematicians/scientists. This is reflected in Windows / OS X. The Windows users have the functionality, but none of the style/class. Where as OS X still has the features (because enough nerds code for apple) but in the end, it is designed by artists.
