no one has mentioned Barquee...its a great app.

Has it been updated? As far as I could tell, it had been dropped for a while. Last time I used it, it desperately needed support for transparencies in the skins, and could have done with being more responsive.

That said though, I still probably wouldn't use it due to Quicksilver doing hotkey support, minus the song scrolling.

Damn. Just took a look at some of the applications. And they are nice. I especially like SideNote and SubEthaEdit.

Time to get a Mac.

SideNote is my new favorite app. I've tried all notepads and this one is my favorite just because it is so easy to use and is minimalistic.

Virtue so cool! i love it, i wont delete it :D plus its free!

“Virtue” is a virtual desktop manager for Mac OS. It offers features, eye candy and configurable options that no other desktop manager on the mac has added yet, and is under active development. It is based upon DesktopManager, which is a lighter, less feature-packed virtual desktop application.

ps: should i put that in backnews? or just for windows only?

nope for me :)

you can change background each one.

That's not what I meant.

If you have two desktops with two different wallpapers it goes like this:

Desktop 1 with wallpaper 1 > Cube animation to desktop 2 showing wallpaper 1 > Animation is done, showing desktop 1 > suddenly changes to wallpaper 2

It doesn't show the new wallpaper on the cube animation like Mac OS X does when fast user switching. That's what I hate.

I don't like the fact it changes backgrounds after the switch animation. Looks stupid.

That's easy enough to fix by setting up an 'Image Overlay' decoration to each desktop ;)

it's kinda buggy and pointless. :p

It's so handy for me. One desktop for news reader & browsers, one desktop for work (Illustrator, Photoshop, Pixadex etc.) & one desktop for email.

I couldn't do without it
