cool rims, and in response to the power thing...

its 8v.... sooooo lol. i think if u could get someone who really knows cars, then maybe a turbo could be do able, even tho the enginge is naturally aspritaed..

if not. 50cc shot of NOs could be a idea, but that blows the engine up like no tommorow. lol

Anything else?

Dont really fancy a Turbo since its a N/A Engine. And NOS... I need my Engine in one piece lol.

Anything else you can think off? New Airfilter/hose/box? They do much BHP wise?

keep it stock, pffft it aint gonna take many mpg off unless he really tunes it lol.

id look into seeing if a ECU upgrade / the car is chippable.

Air filters + new hoses will make it sound like its pushing 300bhp, so unless u want your car sounding a bit on teh sports car side i'd leave them alone.

Mainly Turbo, Intercooler, and a Upgraded ECU would do the trick, but its finding the parts...

Also you could round off the pistols to give a bit more ooomphh, not so more more BHP, but it would help give it a bit more pull... i think..

Wheels look good, just don't go (too) rice

Yes, because nitrous oxide on a nonmodded car is a good idea.

I'm not sure that the old turbo engine is really that suitable for the MK2 Punto (they switched from a 1.4 turbo to a 1.8 16v in the MK2 Punto).

In all reality, there's probably no economical way to get 50% more power from th 8v 1.2. Certainly, you could swap out the 8v for a 1.2 16v, 1.6 16v or the 1.8 16v from another Punto / Stilo / whatever (the 2.0 may be the same as well), as they all use the same engine design which have the same engine mounts and so on. From memory, the 1.8 16v is a taller engine and may need changes to the shell.

Whether that is a financially wise choice is another matter, as buying a HGT may make more sense.

The old Fiat and Lancia engines that the Uno and X1/9 had all shared the same roots and in the X1/9 it was common to swap out the 1.5 for a Choma / Lancia 2.0 8v, 16v or turbo engine.

An airfilter, etc will add maybe 10bhp

Not economically, no.

Swapping the engine for a bigger one from a breakers would be the cheapest option, as it wouldn't be that difficult to swap.

However, buying a car with a bigger engine would make more sense, as your insurance would go up massively if you were to swap the engine (and technically even an air filter may be considered to be a modification to your insurance company)

Ive been looking at some Induction Kits to replace the current one which I belive is far from ideal for many reasons.

Pilsbury, you seem to know your stuff? What Filters would you recommend?

I've been looking at this one:-

K & N will possibly give you a bit more power, but, it will be minimal.

It will make the car sound a bit more sporty though.

Talking about a 3-6 more BHP Max?

Any other Air filters that can give a bit more do you know of?

How does it make the car sound more sporty?

very tidy car mate ! well done!

your best bet is k&n filter but really there isnt much more you can do.

the filter could give u a 8+ increase if your lucky probably less tho. Your driving a 1.2 mate 90bhp just isnt going to happen :( spend your money on other mods like getting it lowered, a bodykit how about an ice install ? nice headunit + amps and subs etc, window tints, some new interior accesories like gearnobs and handbreakcovers

i also wouldnt bother with engine mods etc cos your insurance is going to skyrocket! leave the preformance mods till after your 21!

i get my first car today 1.6 focus but iam paying a grand insurance :(

gd luck! its looking gd already :)

Yeh, I think all im going to do is replace the Induction Kit... About ?80-90 or so.

Also going to get some Black rear lights and then leave it at that really.

What are some really good websites with decent prices?

These Rear Lights

From the same site.

Ive seen the lights for ?99 at this site http://www.gbkperformance.co.uk/gbk/index....products_id=425

But the site seems very new, not sure I could trust it? Damn cheap though...

    • But you still need RAM and a GPU. If you haven`t any spare that`s going to cost quite a bit...

    • JBL BAR 800 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos soundbar is an amazing deal today by Sayan Sen This Amazon Prime Day 2026 sales so far we have had a couple of nice deals related to sound and audio. First we have the Sennheiser HD 600 at its lowest ever price of just $225. Next we also have the Beats Studio Pro at its lowest price ever at just $150. However perhaps you prefer your gear to sound great on a larger scale, like throughout the room. In that case an all-in-one soundbar system can help and currently JBL's BAR 800 is a great deal for sure as it's up for grabs at just $600 (purchase link under the specs table down below). One thing that should be appreciated a lot about these JBL soundbars is their spec sheet and the frequency response data it provides. The firm is honest about it as JBL confirms the subwoofer is able to go down to 35 Hz at -6dB or F6. This means it should be covering 40Hz and up very well, where most of the bass lies. You miss out on a lot of sub-bass but that is to be expected given the price point and the subwoofer driver size. Speaking of which, it is a 10-inch driver and promises a max output power of 300 watts at 1% THD (total harmonic distortion). JBL also claims the system will provide you with a "True Dolby Atmos" experience. The surround speakers are wireless and battery-powered which means setting them up should be really convenient. The technical specs of the JBL BAR 800 are given in the table below: Specification Value Channel Configuration 5.1.2-channel soundbar system Dolby Atmos Yes, with 2 up-firing drivers Total System Power Output 720 W Soundbar Power Output 340 W Surround Speaker Power Output 2 × 40 W Subwoofer Power Output 300 W Soundbar Drivers 3 × 46×90 mm racetrack drivers, 3 × 20 mm tweeters, 2 × 70 mm up-firing full-range drivers Surround Speaker Drivers 1 × 46×90 mm racetrack driver (each speaker) Subwoofer Driver 10-inch (260 mm) wireless subwoofer Frequency Response 35 Hz – 20 kHz (-6 dB) Audio Inputs Optical, Bluetooth, Chromecast built-in, AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music (MRM), USB* HDMI Inputs 1 HDMI video input HDMI Output 1 HDMI eARC output HDCP Version 2.3 HDR Pass-Through HDR10, Dolby Vision Bluetooth Version 5.0 Wi-Fi Version 6, 6E Streaming Services Chromecast built-in, Apple AirPlay, Alexa MRM Get it at the link below: JBL Bar 800-5.1.2-Channel Dolby Atmos soundbar with Detachable Surround Speakers (Black): $599.85 (Sold and Shipped by Amazon US with Prime) Prime subscription can be cancelled within three business days.
