I really like these cars, I want one sometime, but first I have to wait till I'm old enough. But knowing me I'll end up ricing it up, big phat exhausts :p and yeah, the vulcans looks really good.

Holy crap that's good! Where the hell do you live????

My car is a 1.1litre Fiesta mk3 (H Reg). A bit of a banger really. Cost me 1300 for the first year of insurance under my name, third party!

you've got a steering lock on it! :o you do know car stealers can crack those things in under 30 seconds, there was a program about it.

And as for the comment about alloys allowing more air flow to the disc's. Thats just silly, firstly its only got front discs and second that car wont have GOOD enough discs to even get them hot enough. And it makes the car lighter!? hahahaahhaahaahahaah that only matters for racing cars or when you take out everything you can think of like... rear seats.

Its not a rally car!

No film just personal oppinion. Hate is a strong word and I just have to say I hate Punto's. The name makes me cringe as much as the look of them. Look at Fiat's whole range, their cars are just ugly. The fastest car ive drove was a 2 Litre Turbo Fiat Coupe, really **** me up. Really nice car but again just looks poo. Waiting till Sunday to have a drive in my mums new Porsche Boxster to see if it will **** me up just as much.

so i suppose its your preference to drive around on steel rims then? Seeing as you think alloys are stupid? i mean whats the point of spending money on alloys if they're useless? I mean a commercial car cant make any use of alloys now surely!? They're only good on racing cars!

Ayria, seeing as sam_goffe is totally in the know about these things, why dont you just get some plastic chrome spinnaz!!! So much cheaper!!! (dear god, please dont do that)

Ayria, i fully hear you on people bashing one another on neowin, its a pain in the arse. You ask for an opinion, then people come in and say "why bother, its crap". Fair enough, can live with that, its their opinion, its blunt but honest, but the people who come in and repeatedly emphasize why they think its crap and try to bring you down... :argh:

and to finally answer the topic question, the vulcans (Y) the photoshops further prove the point to me ;)

To be honest, if I had a car, the alloys would be the only thing that I would do to the car, plus a CD player (if it didn't have one as standard). Blacking out the windows is a big no no in my opinion, and spoilers...well, the name gives it away.

The ones you have chosen are nice.

My car has the standard Blaupunkt CD Player/Sound System

1 Sub in boot.

Sounds pretty nice, although id like a MP3 Player compatible CD Player and thats about it.

As for the blacked out winows, that was just a bit of fun in CS2.

All im doing is putitng some alloys on it and possibly as mentioned a better CD player. Ive got to idealy keep the car for 3 years (Loan) unless I win some money.

BLEHINATOR!.

Thank you for some decent worth while input.

I guess its the age of the internet where people will try and spoil anything other people do which they get satisfaction from really. Personally, I find it amusing, but it does lower the overal tone of this massive community.

And once again, this is my SECOND car and im 20 in a few days. So stop suggesting I change my car for some mid-range sports/coupe - Get Real!

cd player aye?

i posted this in another thread but i just have to post about it again, i just like it so much.

this baby, panasonic cq-c8400

http://panasonic.com.au/products/details.c...43&contextID=12

i got one today for AUD 385... translating to GBP 166.095 according to www.xe.com

its pricey, but considering that this unit usually sells for AUD 600, i got a bargin. its a superseded model, so thats why it came down in price so much, but its very very upmarket considering all. check the stats. if you can get one, you would certainly not regret it! but its maybe overkill for you?

and as for your second car, and considering your geographic location with regards to your age demographic, you're doing quite well, i know the situation over there, hear many stories. Nothing to be ashamed of, nothing to be embarrassed of, everything to be proud of with that car (Y)

You know what, I'm not sure of the backround of a Fiat, but I can be damn sure that it's waay better than a Saab. Do you even know why they call it a Saab? Because after getting it fixed at a shop and recieving the bill, that's all you can do is Saab. Now this is just based on how Saabs haven been like in the past, not sure what it is like now. Hope you enjoy your new rims, so lucky. tongue.gif

wanna race my dads 270BHP saab 9-5 eh ? ha more than likely you think your honda civic or watever you have burns absolute rubber and is the "dream" car.

The punto i would put a nice 5 spoke set of 15" O.Z's, wrap em in P-Zero's and leave it at that.

Tweak the engine for all its worth and dont tell the insurance  and make it fast as you can, but be subtle about it.

Got the alloys with some Falkens on it. Would of wanted Prirelli's but never mind.

What would be the best way to increase the Engines output?

Its only a 1.2 8v.

Id like some input on what would be the best (And safest, has to last a few years) way of increasing the BHP for the least amount of money? Current Manufacturer output states 60HP @ 5000rpm. Id like around... say 80-90BHP ? Just to give it a bit more ooooooomph, especially when I have 3-4 Peeps in it.

Cheers.

PS. Will add pics, soon.

For what it's worth, I used to drive a Punto. My parents + neighbours drive Merc's, BMW's, Ferarri's, Porche's etc. I never felt out of place, because for my age, I had a nice reliable and not ridiculously lame car.

Car snobbery often comes from people who don't have the above marques, but ish they did. So to feel better about thir car, they mock others!

cool rims, and in response to the power thing...

its 8v.... sooooo lol. i think if u could get someone who really knows cars, then maybe a turbo could be do able, even tho the enginge is naturally aspritaed..

if not. 50cc shot of NOs could be a idea, but that blows the engine up like no tommorow. lol

    • I wonder how many are laid off for cost savings, and this being blamed on AI to make it sound less scary and bad, for a more positive "modern, with the times" spin for investors? Because Oracle is down 14% the past year. We're looking at a company struggling here. If AI would actually be working out so well for them that they can do massive layoffs, surely this would've been reflected the past year in their stock value?
    • AI is the beginning, wait until real robots replace more jobs, specifically jobs that require physical work.
    • AI is indeed eliminating jobs, and Oracle just proved it by Hamid Ganji There’s no question that AI has become the hottest trend in workplaces, and every company is trying to adopt AI-driven solutions across its operations. While some industry leaders repeatedly say AI won’t lead to massive layoffs, recent data suggest that AI is actually one of the main reasons some companies are reducing their workforce. According to Oracle’s annual regulatory filing, the company has laid off about 21,000 employees, or 13% of its workforce, amid increasing AI adoption. “The adoption and deployment of AI technologies across our operations have resulted, and may continue to result, in reductions to our workforce,” Oracle said in the filing. The software giant now has approximately 141,000 full-time employees, a notable decrease from 162,000 during the same period last year. Restructuring expenses, including severance payments, cost Oracle $1.84 billion in fiscal 2026. Additionally, around 49,000 Oracle employees were based in the U.S., while approximately 92,000 were employed internationally. Like many other companies, Oracle has fully embraced AI and concentrated much of its efforts on the technology. The company is also a key participant in the United States’ $500 billion Stargate Project, which aims to build multiple AI data centers across the country. When it comes to AI adoption and its impact on the workforce, opinions remain divided. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, whose company has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of the AI boom, recently said in an interview that attributing job cuts to AI is a “lazy” narrative. “The narrative that connects AI to job loss, for many of the CEOs that are doing it – it is just too lazy. AI has just arrived, how is it possible they're already losing jobs?” Huang said. However, statistics and recent reports tell a different story. According to Layoffs.fyi, 196 tech companies have laid off about 119,800 employees so far this year. Reducing staff and replacing roles with AI agents could become one of the most significant trends in the job market in the years ahead.
