The actual Sidebar is warez and any links to it or attachements containing the sidebar.exe are warez, there for they can't be posted.

The patch on the other hand can be posted, since it doesn't work at all if you don't have the sidebar.exe already. It isn't warez because it isn't the actual product, it's a mod.

The same goes for the gadgets.

If you have hide extension disabled then just rename "part.zip" to "part.part"

If you don't, go to control panel, folder options, View Tab, and uncheck hide extensions for known file types \/

COOL thanks VISTA for this tip from changing from *.Zip to *.part . Would have never crossed my mind.. however .. WMP is added but not working.. u know how to work it on.?

as Vista use WMP 10 a ?

How the devil do I actually get sidebar to recognise the new .part files

Ive download a few of them, and they are in XXXX.part so thats all good

ive got them in the default parts directory and under User/Parts/

but nothing

Ive closed, reset sidebar etc but nothing

any ideas?

Why dont you try to add this files on X:\Program Files\Windows Sidebar\Default Parts

Well.. I downloaded more then 4 wmp gadgets from more then different plance .. and all of them just a picture even bottoms on the gadget dont shine or whatever.
