Some of the utilities that people cheat with can run on a different computer while pulling the information across from the game directory or via packet sniffing. It is virtually impossible for WoW or any other game to prevent these types of cheats without seriously impacting ping times and overall gameplay.

I run it on Linux, so I doubt those programs would find anything anyway :D

Basically, there's nothing wrong with this and this is nothing games like Battlefield or Counter-Strike already do. The author just appears to be stiring up FUD against WoW.

I honestly don't understand why people have this near fanatical belief that Blizzard are the best games producers on the planet, World of Warcraft, or more accurately, Everquest Reskinned is "just another mmorpg" like all othe rmmorpgs, following in the wake of the massive success of the late Ultima Online and the rapidly dying Star Wars Galaxies.

This was known before, there is a forum topic about it on both the EU and the US boards opened by a blue.

WoW is so completely boring at times that you'll bound to be minimizing it and go surfing or doing something else for a few hours till you get into a BG or till your flight arives.

Having that said, with PunkBuster you have a choice. You can play on PB disabled servers. With WoW you don't have that choise.

Beats me why anyone would want to play WoW for more than a few months anyway, the game gets extremely boring and there is no point in the game except getting more equipment so you can get better equipment and run around in circles for more equipment. :rolleyes:

not really a big deal i think. It's not like someone has direct control over what is looked at, its not anything like subseven and such, just a way to catch cheaters. I bet if you check out VAC or PunkBuster, you'll get similar results.
