Games with good graphics that sucked

Recommended Posts

I can't believe no one mentioned AQUANOX!!! Terrible game, great graphics.

Ah, I forgot about that one. I remember all the hype, and I *knew* it was going to suck... but the graphics were undeniably good for its time. I remember my friend buying a new computer just around the time it came out and I was just loving how Aquanox looked on his rig.

^ yeah Enter the Matrix was sad

*cough* Doom 3

Cough :p One more Battlefield Vietnam boy it looked nice and it had that thing where you could play music whenever you were in a car or something. I loved that but the game overall was just not that great

Doom III

Quake IV

HL : 2

CS : S

DOD : S

Wow, i dont know why you would put those on the list. The Barbie games are on sale this week by the way, they might be better then those you mentioned. For me i would have to say Sim City 4, I thought the graphics were sweet but it wasn't that good

Doom III

Quake IV

HL : 2

CS : S

DOD : S

Ya, i'm so sure this guy puts the three LEADING releases. You're full of sh!t buddy, stop trying to **** people off.

I'd have to say, For me, I'm going to contradict myself, but I'm just not feeling the Quake 4 SP at this point, the MP is just eating me up though. I love it, it's incredible, and graphcially, well I've had problems like MANY people I've talked to (Hi! #quake4 efnet) with the same problems, so it's a little bit of a compromise graphically as well.

One day we'll all be running it faster I suppose :)

But anyway, that's my take

Yes, I'm afraid a lot of the posts on here are from people that must just suck at good games.

My pick would be:

The Bouncer (PS2) - looked great and really "next gen" at the time as a launch game for the PS2, but lacked anything beyond looks.

good call...that was craptastic

Some of Farcry was bad, but it was graphically amazing, but all the Farcry sequals suck.

What Farcry sequels, didn't know there were any.

Deus Ex + System Shock2 are 2 of the best games I've played.

Daikatana was crap, and the demo for Project Snowblind put me right off.

Wow, i dont know why you would put those on the list. The Barbie games are on sale this week by the way, they might be better then those you mentioned. For me i would have to say Sim City 4, I thought the graphics were sweet but it wasn't that good

HL: 1 was much better than HL:2

CS: S is still very buggy, and requires mods to change your player skin (CS: CZ and 1.6 both have this feature built in) They pushed the game out before it was ready, and it is not as good because of that

DOD : S (I never liked the original, this is no different)

Doom III seemed very repetitive

Quake IV has great Multi-Player, but the Single player is very lacking

Quake 4

Completely disagree. It takes a little while to get into this game but it really is good. The graphics are amazing and the gameply is great, although I admit its not up to half life 2's standard.

Doom 3 was a game that had good graphics but sucked. When I had my fx5200 i played very little of it. When I got my 6600gt I played loads because the graphics looked amazing, but when I think about it now, the gameplay sucked.

    • Google Finance is now out of beta with improved portfolio tracking and a new Android app by Karthik Mudaliar Google is taking its redesigned Google Finance experience out of beta and adding several new features, including portfolio tracking, scheduled market briefings, and a dedicated Android app. The company says the updates are beginning to roll out globally this week, while an iOS app is planned for later in 2026. The most notable addition is the new portfolio feature. Instead of entering every investment manually, users can upload a screenshot, CSV file, or PDF containing their holdings. They can also tell Google Finance what they own using natural language, such as the number of shares held in a particular company or fund. Google Finance will then place those investments into a dashboard showing performance, asset allocation, concentration risk, and the holdings responsible for the biggest gains or losses. Existing portfolios created with the older version of Google Finance should appear automatically. The built-in AI research panel can use the portfolio as context when answering questions. For example, users can ask which sectors are underrepresented or how their fixed-income allocation could affect long-term growth. Google says portfolio data will remain private and that uploaded files and images will not be retained. Users will also be able to edit or delete their portfolio information after it has been imported. Google Finance is also getting scheduled tasks. These let users request recurring reports such as a daily summary of overnight cryptocurrency movements or a weekly update about newly announced initial public offerings. There is also a new Google Finance app for Android. It includes watchlists, interactive charts, real-time market data, a live news feed, and the same AI research panel available on the web. Google has been gradually expanding the AI-powered Finance redesign since it first entered testing. In April, the experience was expanded to more than 100 countries, bringing its research tools, advanced charts, and market news to a much larger audience. That was followed by a wider European rollout in May, which added features including live earnings calls, transcripts, and AI-generated summaries. The ability to import an entire portfolio from a screenshot or document should make Google Finance considerably easier to set up. However, Android users will have to wait for feature parity with the web version, and Google has yet to say exactly when the iOS app will arrive.

    • Can you give an example of when you would want to use Rufus over the other or vice versa? Just wondering which is the "best".
