Because it's not available in certain locations. The trick is to fool the page and let it think you're in a location where it's available

Well thats the thing. I don't know if I even have 2 gigs yet.

Overall I'm barely impressed, but I understand that it is a beta. Just like how people whine about the lack of improvement in Windows Live Messenger, I believe change will come all in due time. Some good improvements are the spell check like Word, but I think the design in general is far too bland.

Did you try every tricks noted in this thread I copied as the last minute notes in the first post? If you try again following all this, and if your account has been made a long time ago, it should work.

wow it worked. make sure you do it in IE i tried it in safari and firefox then switched to my windows computer tried it in IE and it worked

For every one who cant make it work, follow these steps and it will work!

Make sure you have these settings if you do not live in the US:

Language --> English

Country --> United States

State --> Florida.

Then

2. Sign in

3. It shouldn't work, so copy again and you should get to your new hotmail!

4.Enjoy!

i got the agreement page then i clicked join and i just get sent back to the original hotmail....

EDIT: im using IE7 btw could that b a problem?...

EDIT2: there we go got it working... works for IE6 not 7... unless it worked for something else....

worked for me. you copy the link dont click it. then paste it. sign in and you should see your old hotmail, paste the link again. scroll down click the button (mine said join now) and your in.

And to answer my own question, yes the Live Mail is tied to your account and works on any computer when you log on. :D
