Slight update to the mini:

Mac Mini Intel Core2Duo 2.0GHz

4GB DDR2

64GB SSD Drive

500GB "Mac Mini" style external drive

A costly, but worthwhile upgrade. OSX performance with a SSD drive is unbelievable.

I'm tempted once SSD come down in price, prove their 'power saving' along with and their life span increases - investing in one will definitely be worth it :D

Just thought I'd add,

I'm now an owner of a MacBook Pro. :) 15 Inch Model.

I sold my MacBook (Standard 2008 Model but with 4GB RAM) to my sister. And she loves it. :)

I used to be an avid Windows user who custom built machines... now I own a Mac and I pretty much recommend them to anyone whose usage profile fits a Mac...

Here's what Apple gear I own as of today (08/04/08):

15-inch MacBook Pro (Late 2007 - MacBookPro3,1) - Purchased on January 15th, 2008

  • 2.2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor
  • 2 GB of DDR2 667 MHz SDRAM memory
  • 120 GB 5400-rpm hard disk drive
  • 8x SuperDrive (DVD?RW Dual Layer)
  • 1440x900 LED-backlit display (Matte)
  • NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT (128MB of video memory)

iPod classic 80 GB, black> - Purchased on June 3rd, 2008

iPhone 3G 8GB> - Purchased on launch day (July 11th, 2008)

  • 6 GB data plan
  • 450 minutes & unlimited local outgoing & incoming calls voice plan
  • iPhone Visual Voicemail Value Pack - 2,500 SMS text messages, Visual Voicemail, Call Display

Other Apple accessories:> Apple Wireless Aluminum Keyboard, Apple Wireless Mighty Mouse, Apple Universal Dock, 2 Apple Remotes, and several iPod cables & headphones.

My girlfriend owns an iPod nano (2nd generation, 4 GB, Pink), and soon will be purchasing a white MacBook (base model). In the near future, we will also be purchasing an Apple TV and a Mac Mini.:))

      Since they open sourced the calculator in Win 10/11 it is much better and can do a lot, I love it.

      That's just silly imo. The lengths that man goes to just to avoid W11 is just nuts. Very, very few home users would do that. I will say this though, he is committed. Btw, I note on askwoody that Woody Leonhard passed away March, 2025 aged 73. His site was one of my favorites back in the day. Belated yes but RIP Woody.

      Because of the EU (a good thing) newer android devices been getting 5 years worth of security patches. Except some Motorola which found the loop hole, and offer ZERO updates. In addition, Google for years have been making where it can patch some stuff by updating the core Google Play Store itself.  As echoed earlier,  you take the security risk in to your own hand beyond supported.
