arturogoga
I still don't get the whole widget thingie. If I want widgets, I'll use Yahoo Widgets, or something. What I would've loved seeing is some sort of extensions support. As much as I love Opera, I have to use Firefox, due to their Performancing and Imageshack extensions, which work so well for blog posting Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/429740-opera-9-tp2-released/page/4/#findComment-587165737 Share on other sites
Malisk
Supporting ad-blocking by default will result in damnation from every content provider out there. ? But it already does. And I think it's powerful enough for most. I doubt many really need much more than wildcarded ad blocks that supports Flash blocking. DrunknMunky Veteran Posted February 7, 2006 Veteran Share Posted February 7, 2006 A bit surprised they included the Bittorrent search engine. Isn't this going to increase awareness of Bittorrent and what you can find to download. I think Opera is going to have to remove that or they could be setting them up for legal issues, no? Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/429740-opera-9-tp2-released/page/4/#findComment-587165944 Share on other sites

The search engine is for legal torrents anyway, and there should be no problems with that. Yes I know bittorrent technology is legal, and there are many products which take advantage of the sharing capabilites. But that doesn't mean that it can't be used for illegal activities and anyone can tell you the illegal outweighs the legal content. Edit: "The search engine is for legal torrents anyway" Really.. Edited February 7, 2006 by PlainLazy Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/429740-opera-9-tp2-released/page/4/#findComment-587166003 Share on other sites

DrunknMunky Veteran Posted February 7, 2006 Veteran Share Posted February 7, 2006 Let me ask you... Do you think you can find illegal stuff by googling too? ;) Let's not turn this thread into an entirely different topic. Yes you can use Google for the same purpose, but it still doesn't justify including BT or the search engine. Esp when Google isn't a file sharing program  But on topic, great release, can't wait for the fianl. Love the new preview tabs feature :D Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/429740-opera-9-tp2-released/page/4/#findComment-587166054 Share on other sites

Doli
Opera Show is a nice little add-in, not bloat folks because it uses HTML for Web presentations. Try it, go to: http://www.opera.com/support/tutorials/operashow/ and press F11 for a powerpoint-like slide show. I guess this is good for students who dont want to buy powerpoint or download Openoffice. Now they need to include this in Opera mini for your USB pen so you can show the presentation at school if you dont have a laptop or the school doesnt have Opera. They even have a generator for it: http://my.opera.com/community/dev/operashow/generator.html Link to comment https://www.neowin.net/forum/topic/429740-opera-9-tp2-released/page/4/#findComment-587166117 Share on other sites

Tommy2k4
Found a new thing: Right click a tab, "Lock Tab". Tim Dorr Veteran Posted February 7, 2006 Veteran Share Posted February 7, 2006 What the heck is the point of having widgets if they're always on top and close when the browser does? I really hope they didn't spend too much time on implementing them... I really hope they didn't spend too much time on implementing them... It's a just a preview... They will most likely improve it until final. Possibly make them visable when hiding Opera (CTRL+H). MiamiGuy
I'm seriously considering just using Opera rather than FireFox. The only thing stopping me is adblock for FireFox. Other than that I'm loving Opera. Just recently discovering ways to customize it like the search bar engines and organizing and adding a separator. heh. I hope perhaps someday FireFox and Opera can unite and form Foxpera!
