Damn Another Ticket

Recommended Posts

I read an article a while back relating our roads (american) to german roads. The autobahn has far less accidents compared to american highways. Reason being people leave the fast lane open for people who speed. Basically usually if I see someone that wants to pass me I let them, I'm not going to be a douche. But if everyone in here says they have never sped you are ingorant. I think I have said all I have to be said, this is will only go in circles, thanks for the morning arugment. :D

One thing to note is Germany doesn't have to deal with road systems on an extremely large scale as in the US. They also have alternative forms of transportation that are widely used such as the railways that span across Europe. The majority of Americans rely on vehicles as their primary source of transportation even within a city and populations are highly concentrated. So make sure the results of the study were determined by the same number of travelers within the same time period.

Furthermore, the autobahn usually only applies to highways as well, and even if not posted--most cities have maximum speed limits and are often photo-enforced. From what I've heard, the highways do have recommended limits, and if you exceed them, you may forfeit any coverage by your insurance company in the event of an accident--a good deterent. And I don't think anyone is saying they never speed, just that 80 in a 55 zone is simply dangerous and irresponsible driving. I just hope you stay away from the mom with her 2-month old strapped in the car seat when you decide to speed 25 over.

Guys, its obviously OK. When speeding near people hes OK. As he gets faster his reactions get better, and with all of that advanced driving he must do, and being able to keep the 110 wild horses on the road, well i dont think i could find a better driver....

You can go on track days at most race circuits, and they're not stupidly expensive either, cheaper than your lawyer.

You don't need a roll cage or specialist tyres, you can just turn up in the car you've got and race.

Try it, it's awesome.

Might let you 'get it out of your system' then, leaving you calm for the road.

I think it was jeremy clarkson said it's not the speed that kills you, it's the stopping fast.

So technically I don't think speed ever killed anyone.

I'll ignore all the comments on here as I for one see nothing wrong with 80 in a 55 zone, it's a bit faster than some of my friends would drive down it but it's not too excessive.

So yeah, your lucky your getting off with such a light punishment, might want to grab yourself a more uptodate radar detector.

Just get a Radar Detector...

LOL. Though if you drive safely and within limits you won't ever need one! Radar/laser detectors are still fairly worthless against a laser detector. The laser can only be detected from certain locations and within close range since a laser is pointed at a very specific spot and are often used on the other side of a hill. By the time it's detected (if even), you may only have 1 or 2 seconds to react. Although I can't confirm this since I don't use them, but at least that's what the reviews say. They still have to use radar in bad weather or where they can't point to a specific location they know will reflect off your car.

There 200 MIllion drivers in the USA, and 35,000 Cops? You must act like a real ###### for cops to pull you over...Think about it. How many cops do you see driving? Not many. You must be a real prick if your getting this man tickets.

35000 cops only? I find that hard to believe

I don't know where you guys live but where I do, if you go anything less than 10 over the speed limit if it's 35 and under and 15-20 over the speed limit if it's over 35, you're going to get rear ended, causing an accident. Now, if you were going what everyone else is going, there wouldn't be a accident. Sure there are those that do the speed limit but they are mostly over the age of 60 and they usually stay out of the way.

Thank you for not insulting me.

Also guys I'm 20 years old, and I manage a franchise. So If you like to call me immature go ahead.

Please contiue the insults, for they only will boost your self esteem.

I think the point everyone is trying to make is, if you are going to speed, expect a ticket and don't complain when you do. Since when does adding a new exhaust add 7 hp? (correct me if I'm wrong)

If you really don't want to get a ticket, don't speed, just because you have a Hyundai Accent GT 2 door, doesn't mean you need to prove something to people with "nicer" cars. It's not all about speed, it's the ride, comfort, and reliability. Just be aware of your surroundings, when people slow down, chances are you should slow down too, more than likely they see the cop before you. MOST cops are easy to catch if you pay attention.

Custom Intake and exhast will give approx. 5 hp each.

I looked into this and I'll be taking my car to the Charlotte Motor speedway. Sure my car will only go 130 max but it is what it is.

Well he was following me from the back and basically guessed my speed.

the funny thing is you think that's a lot of power. Let me put it this way...a stock 2005 SX2.0 (neon) base model has 132hp and is 2132 pounds.

Let me put it this way...you're not impressing anybody

Never said 110 hp was a lot buddy.

Never had a goal to impress anyone. I like my car the way it is. Also it really dosent matter on the HP if the gear ratio is bad.

Guess speeding makes me an ###### on a ramp to the interstate.

So we confirmed I'm an ######, so?

We really don't care if you smash your guts all over the road way. It's the other people around you that you might harm.

So please if you want to die, just kill yourself. Don't put the lives of others in danger.

May I suggest a bullet in the heart. It's just as effective as shooting yourself in the head, but not as much mess for your family to clean up.

Its the same way here in most cases.

i speed 98% of the time..

but the kind of speeding you're doing is just stupid.. 80 in a 55..

i don't know which is worse.. that you got a speeding ticket or you're driving a modded hyundai that puts out 110hp.. :p

slow down.. 10mph over the limit is my max.. and always keep a look out for cops.. i just got my insruance letter today and i got a $500 "good driver" discount.. after this semester i'll take off another $400 for "good student" discount..

instead of having my mom force me to pay $600 i'm only going to pay $300.

It currently has an custom intake and upgraded exhast putting me around 110 hp. This is good for being a 2100 lb car. I have a bad speeding habbit. Yea you guys know where this is going. So I got antoher ticket 80 in a 55.

Here comes the "Ricer" comments.

110hp is not, in any way, shape or form, a lot of horsepower, even for a light car. I suggest you not race anybody simply so that you don't continually get humiliated by other cars. Speeding tickets suck, but it's the consequence you have to pay for trying to go fast.

So I bought my frist 5 speed 3 weeks ago. Its a Hyndai Accent GT 2 door. It currently has an custom intake and upgraded exhast putting me around 110 hp. This is good for being a 2100 lb car. So my lawyer said he was going to charge me 150 + court cost and he would bring this down to 9 under with no insurance points. The bad thing the same day at night I was racing a Tibrion V6.

Here comes the "Ricer" comments.

I failed to mention, the tib smoked me hahaha. :p

Is it the adrenaline rush you like so much?

Is it the adrenaline rush you like so much?

That is part of it. But its almost like man bonding with machine. Most of these guys will just say I'm just stupid but whatever. Its just a different type of feeling.

PLEASE READ THE PREVIOUS POST BEFORE YOU POST. YOU WILL SEE I HAVE MENTOINED ALL OF THIS ABOUT TWICE BEFORE.

I'd be carefull. My old roommate almost killed himself racing. His mother used to beat him as a child and thus he was in a way addicted to adrenaline. There's a lot written on the subject. That's why I asked. Be careful.

Books or even an article? If so I would like to read them.

    • Nvidia GeForce NOW gains support for Dark Scrolls, Empulse, and more by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The final update of June for Nvidia's cloud gaming service GeForce NOW is now available, and it is touting support for six more games. The company is also drawing subscriber attention towards the summer sales kicking off across stores, so they can stock up on more cloud-supported titles. Of course, the Steam Summer Sale is the biggest promotion, which is kicking off later today. "Supported Steam games can be streamed across devices with GeForce NOW, making it easy to buy a game once, keep progress synced and pick up where the gameplay left off on PCs, Macs, handheld devices, phones, TVs and more," says the company. "In other words, the Steam Summer Sale brings the deals; GeForce NOW adds the flexibility." Don't forget that the GeForce NOW summer sale is still active as well. This limited-time offer drops the 12-month Performance membership from $99.99 to $64.99, saving members $35. At the same time, the 12-month Ultimate membership is currently going for $129.99, dropping the price by $70 from the original $199.99. Here are the games joining GeForce NOW's supported list this week: Dark Scrolls (New release on Steam, available June 22) SAND: Raiders of Sophie (New release on Steam, available June 22) Deer & Boy (New release on Steam, available June 23) EMPULSE (New release on Steam, available June 24) The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (Steam) FATAL FURY: City of the Wolves (Steam) With the June expansions coming to an end, Nvidia should be announcing its July GeForce NOW plans next week. Keep in mind that, unlike subscription services like Game Pass or EA Play, a copy of a game must be owned by the GeForce NOW member (or at least have a license via PC Game Pass) to start playing via Nvidia's cloud servers. There is also a limit to how many hours subscribers can use the service per month.

    • There are so many of these apps now that do this, what do people recommend?
    • Just the price of doing business. The scamble to pull as much from the web as possible is happening, and it's happening before a case like this changes how or what is legal do to with AI in terms of data harvesting. But even then as we've seen with the likes of Google who ignore cookie requests and just accept the fact they'll get fined, it's built into their business price model now. AI is here, its not going away. Their reward if any from the court case would be best suited to trying to incorprate AI or licence their end points as authentic human verified content. The problem is, as we've seen these same news papers are using AI themselves.
