Latest Japanese Hardware Sales

I'll say this a better reason for that spike in sales... :shifty:

PROJECT SYLPHEED

on sale 2006-09-28

Actually, Dead Rising outsold Project Sylpheed for the week. That's not bad considering the game appartently isn't being displayed in retail stores in Japan because of its mature rating. In fact, if it wasn't for the Pokemon games, Dead Rising would've actually cracked the top 10 in software sales in Japan. :o

I thought the SP had been selling in the high 1,000s but it was the high 2000s. Oops.

And as Mojo said, Dead Rising came out over there. I guess it was enough to give the 360 a small boost.

small, thats a big boost. almost doubled

Yeah, it reached 100,000 in the last week of March. It's probably around the 150,000 mark right now.

yeah it's around there now, i'm shocked that so many ps2s still sell. I mean seriously doesn't everybody have one at this point.

DS sells to age and gender markets that were unaccessable until it came along.

Even my mother plays games like brain age and tetris.

It is predicted to sell 20 million set this fiscal year, but there are plenty more people without a DS in the targeted market.

What a coup for nintendo.

which is what they;re hoping to do with the wii.....can't wait to see if it will work

Doesn't everyone in Japan own a PS2 by now, i mean honestly why are so many still being sold. Is it people replacing their broken ones, or just buying them for the sake of keeping sony ahead, I can't understand it
