Intel beats AMD with new CPU! Hell FrozeN?

Why are people so surprised to see Intel beat AMD? Does nobody remember the K6-2 days when AMD's chips were all slower than Intel? It's like being surprised if ATI beats Nvidia in speed or the other way around. They are always going to leap frog each other -- that's how competition works.

The Dothan core does have several desktop variants, but motherboard are rare.

The Conroe concept takes bits from the mobile processors, the P-M, such as the low power consumption figures, shorter pipeline, and higher efficiency per clock cycle.

It sounds like P-M was Intel's way of dropping out a test balloon on their new idea.

Interesting... I was hoping so because the benchies of the Dothan P4-M on desktop showed its potential in games where most of Intel's cpus have lacked since the end of Northwoods, being head-to-head with the fastest Athlon64's (link).

But uh, yeah, what will the new Apple Laptops have with all these new Intel cpus coming out :|
