DH zer0point drivers (ATI/nVidia)

Recommended Posts

These were released last week, but anyways.

For the ATI drivers...

*Based on the Official 6.2 Drivers

*New tweaks and optimizations to enhance driver performance and image quality.

*2 versions avalilable: one with the normal CP and another one with the CCC to reduce download size.

*This will be our last release with the normal CP since we're migrating to the CCC.

*DHzer0point Video Acceleration and IQ tweaks for enhanced video playback

*Adaptive anti-Aliasing Performance mode enabled by default, we felt this gave a mcuh better Image quality without a noticable performance loss. This is NOT the Case with the CCC release, you'll need to enable that on your own.

*H.264 Acceleeration enabled by default Requires compliant hardware and codec.

*PCI LAtency set to BIOS defaults, this stops the video card from hogging the PCI bus and can reduce skipping and stuttering in certain games.

For the nVidia drivers...

*Based on Forceware 8360

*Dual core/Hyperthreading optimizations from Nvidia

*Improved High End Pixel Shading Performance

*UT2004 and older early DX9/8 improvements

*Compatibility tweaks still included

*Fixed Resolutions bug

*All SLI options, rendering AA/AF, Overclocking options should be available

*Full Mobility support

*Hardcoded PCI Latency to BIOS defaults, keeps the video card from hogging the PCI bus, and can reduce or eliminate skipping from some titles

*VMR option available and enabled by default

Seeing how progress on the Omega Forceware drivers is going almost nowhere, I tried the zer0point nVidia drivers instead. They sure as hell cut the stuttering I experienced in UT2004 to a minimal level. Can't say anything about its supposed 'increased image quality' though.

let us know how they compare with ati and/or omega

I'm not too sure. But for those Half Life 2 / CS Source and Doom 3 gamers, this driver set has game specific optimizations for them, or so it says in the release notes. Strangely, I can't find those files in my install folder.
